The two middle slots are where ammo finder and weapon targeting mods go. So either you’re needing yourself in PVE by having less ammo drop for or special, or needing yourself in PvP by having less aim assist and target acquisition. There’s really nowhere on the helmet the mod could go that wouldn’t be a nerf to how we currently build craft. You will have to give something up. And yes there are other mods that also create orbs or charge you with light, but unless your build already incorporates them you’re again going to have to give something up. In addition to generating less since you used to get an orb every other rapid kill from your weapon on top of the other mods you ran. It’s a nerf. It may not be as apocalyptic as one on par with needing stacking damage buffs or stacking debuffs, and sunsetting pinnacle weapons, but it is a nerf. The one thing that makes this worse than them is the messaging. Bungie is acting like this isn’t a nerf, and are alluding to something good coming out of it, but didn’t have the good sense to release this news at the same time as the actual good news.

Yeah, punching stuff to death is excellent if you're rocking middle tree sun breaker with sythocepts and a shotty with one two punch. But outside of this setup you will only be punching ads in low lvl content because in gmnfs you'll be dying more than killing mate.
