A slight adjustment for content vaulting.

Destiny and Destiny 2 will always have a special place in my heart. I guess you could call me a bit of a nostalgic player as I love to go back and play D1 and other older activities in D2. Today I am dying to explore Titan and play the Red War Campaign. Problem is, I can't. I know that Bungie removed this to help with the game download size (and that makes sense), but I feel robbed to have content I enjoyed and paid for (twice) un-accessible. This isn't a new concept, old games go offline after a time, but considering D1 is still around it just doesn't feel right. Here is my suggestion, allow players to decide what expansions(campaigns, raids, adventures, strikes, planets) to have installed at any given time; allowing them to opt into the latest release without giving up their black armory forge or menagerie. An example of this is The Master Chief Collection. The difference in this example is that all multiplayer experiences would be with the latest release in Destiny 2, unless Bungie takes this idea and adds Destiny 1 to it as well(keeping the two releases separate). While there might be an issue with population, I think this will be remedied by cross-play, all platforms would provide a healthy population to all game modes. This would also allow Bungie to let players complete battle passes at any time after purchase as seasonal content could stay in "vaulted" releases. Allowing the oldest years worth of content to be packaged as the next "release" and give players the option to download and enjoy that area. Players would be responsible for managing their computer space, but the seperate installs would improve game boot up and load times. And, of course, any item gained in any release would be tied to the players Bungie account and allowed to move between releases. I understand the complexities of this proposal, believe me I've studied game design for multiple years, but I feel it is the right way to approach content vaulting, and it allows the "live" game to tell narratives that remove locations or change characters, like the change from Uldren to Crow, without preventing players from participating in content they enjoy. Lets keep this discussion serious, but chill. Thanks everyone, and thanks Bungie.
