None of these answers are too surprising, but LEGO Star Wars is so overrated. Nostalgia is the only thing it has going for it, because its gameplay is honestly terrible compared to newer LEGO games.

What would you really like to be Lego themed?
-
Avatar, then Korra, then a TCS type deal that mashes them together. I want to play as Zhao so I can conduct a raid on the secret library that most people don’t think exists.
-
Ya know when you think about it. That is the only important thing that ever happened in Avatar. I really also love that they got SoaKa's pronunciation correct ;)
-
It gets childhood game points
-
I believe that’s exactly what I just said. I personally think people should try to minimize the amount of sway nostalgia has on their opinions. It leaves you less open to appreciate the new.

TCS fixed JarJar tho

Lego Star wars are trash, long live Lego Indiana Jones

Bearbeitet von The First Aifos: 5/8/2021 9:34:28 PMI wouldn’t go that far. Lego Star Wars is good fun—just not as amazing as everyone says it is. I did like the first LEGO Indiana Jones, but the second one is pretty rubbish.

Yeah I know I was just exaggerating

how dare you

I’m not saying it’s bad; it’s still a fun game. The newer ones (at least the good newer ones) are just, like, objectively better. You can’t even manually aim in TCS!

Only if you give me a game design analysis on what makes mt statement false.

its ok to be wrong

I know. It’s a good thing I’m not wrong, though. Like seriously, go play LEGO Batman 3, and then jumpback to LEGO Star Wars TCS, and try to tell me its gameplay is still just as good. Admittedly, though, I did forget about its vehicle levels. The old LEGO games had way better vehicle levels. In the standard levels, though, seriously, it is objectively worse.

Bearbeitet von Cultmeister: 5/7/2021 11:53:33 PMLego SW:TFA is good but still shit in comparison to TCS. So was Lego Star Wars 3 (the clone wars one) although that had some fun new elements. The Indiana Jones games were pretty crap, as well as the Harry Potter games. Pirates of the Caribbean was mediocre/good. Haven’t played any of the super hero ones so guess I can’t compare those, nor have I played the Jurassic Park one though I have it downloaded ready to play, but City Undercover wasn’t that great either the little I played of that one, and the first Lego movie game was pretty boring as well. The only ones I thought were actually decent were the LOTR/Hobbit games. TCS and the first two SW were simple and fun takes on movie tie-in games, these newer ones seem to me overly complex with their build systems and item equipping.

As far as the Star Wars games specifically to, TFA was definitely the worst of the bunch. It tried to make it into a weird third person cover based shooter thing, and it just didn’t work. But I’d put the Clone Wars over TCS. It just plays better, and the battlefields were fun. Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and Pirates of the Caribbean are all older ones, so they aren’t what I’m referring to when I say the newer ones are better. TCS can definitely hold its own against them. Haven’t played Jurassic World, or City Undercover, but from what I understand the latter was a spinoff anyway. The LEGO Movie one wasn’t very good, yeah, but that’s just because that one wasn’t very good. But Ninjago, the first Marvel Superheroes, Batman 3, DC Super Villains, Incredibles, & LotR are all just better in every way, except the vehicle levels, which I miss. Tt just knows how to make games better, and their newer games just feel more fun to play. Their levels are built with the same design philosophy, just better made. Though a disclaimer I suppose, I’m speaking purely from a gameplay standpoint. I suppose you could make the argument for story or aesthetics, but that argument will hopefully be made null once the new LEGO Star Wars comes out. Unfortunately LEGO games can be rather hit or miss.
