The Answer to Sunsetting? THINK ARMSDAY!

( TLDR; The revival and consistent renewal of foundry weapons solves the problems created by sunsetting) A question for fellow gaurdians.. Would you still fear the imminent sunsetting of your god-rolled weapons if you KNEW you'd be getting a better version of that same weapon just as soon as you lost the old one? What if your favorite weapons didn't leave, but only evolved. Solution. Foundry Weapons.Heres why: [b]Consistency[/b] 1. While weapons of the same foundry might have different names, they maintain the same feel and weapon identity, giving players a sense of stability with regards to weapon sunsetting. Ex: [i] 'Instead of dreading the loss of my god-rolled "Imset Hc4" hand cannon, I can look forward to the new perks on the "Imset hc5", knowing the weapons will look/feel consistent with the one I held so dearly.' [/i] [b]Balance[/b] 2. Weapons (much like artifact perks) can drop with rolls that stand out as powerful, and when the time comes, be replaced by a weapon with new perks but the same familiar gun-model of that weapon's foundry. Ex: [i] 'The suros scout rifle "The dougie" drops with Rampage + No distractions and is replaced by "The stanky Leg" with Rapid hit + Multi-Kill clip.' Think of it like a vendor refresh[/i] 😉 [b]Bigger Lootpool[/b] 3. Not feeling this seasons flavor of the month gear? No worries! 3 weapon foundries means there's always a new gun that's more your taste (and in your archetype!). Ex: [i] 'Whether we wanted it or not, this season's world drops are all cabal themed. I think I'll pass on the glitz and glam for those satisfyingly crunchy Hakke weapon sound fx' [/i] In conclusion, Foundry Weapons mean: 1. Player's can rest easy knowing when their favorite weapon leaves, their new fave takes its place. 2. Sunsetting can do it's job of balancing/cycling weapons more efficiently without players feeling robbed of their favorite weapons and weapon identities. 3. More weapons means a bigger lootpool and more choice for players. Bungie can take risks developing unique pursuit weapons while maintaining an alternative suite of familiar foundry weapons. I'll waste no time explaining the effect that sunsetting has had on the player-base and the ecosystem of the game. Has the solution been here all along within the foundry weapons? Let the community here your thoughts.
