Beyond Light itself is good, but the rest of the game isn't
The rest of the game has no replayability. We haven't had a vendor refresh in 2 years. There's still no strike specific loot. We still don't have factions. We still don't have a weekly-featured raid. All of these were features we had in Destiny 1. Why is it so hard to have them now? On top of that, you sunset Dreaming City and Moon gear yet you still charge money for Forsaken and Shadowkeep. We have no reason to visit locations besides Europa. What was the point of bringing back the Cosmodrome if you're not going to give us a reason to go there? I just don't understand why you're so afraid to give us incentives to play old content. The removal of so many strikes makes the problem even worse. If the gameplay loop revolves around grinding core activities, then why haven't those core activities been touched on or updated?
Edit: Also the power system needs to be changed. Monotonous grinding is not fun. Power also matters very little. As many people described it, it feels like you're getting "less weak, not stronger".

4 AntwortenSo lets say i am a new light player, decided to buy all the expansions today i buy Forsaken and Shadowkeep do their campaigns to experience their stories then what would i do? Do blind well to get 1060 capped gear? Do ascendant challenges to get 1060 capped gear? Do Shattered Throne to get 1060 capped gear? Do pit of heresy to get 1060 capped gear? Do altar of sorrow on moon to get 1060 capped gear? Do nightmare hunts on moon to get 1060 capped gear? As someone who bought these expansions on day1 and consumed already this is not really a big problem for me but its a huge problem for Bungie and the new light players or the players who took a break. They don't have good control or management over the content they have atm, before vaulting the excuse was ''the game was too big'' what is the excuse now? Why the 2 dungeons in the game are absolutely worthless piece of content?

I know I know. -blam!- those freeloaders. They have also said faction rally isn't coming back. They have said it like three times. Rally were unimaginative token farms anyway. Let that one go already. Strike specific loot....should definitely be more of a thing, agree. On a side note I've noticed they added back strike scoring? That's kinda nice! I dunno man, I'm having tons of fun. Something people don't realize about this expansion is a lot of effort went into optimization and not direct gameplay. Something that was badly needed. Load times are significantly better and graphics update is noticeable. Bug fixes are happening faster. All the latest exotics have been straight fiiiire. So good. Stasis so far I'm loving. I am soooooo excited for them to expand on darkness and update the light classes. Personally think the future of destiny is looking super bright if they can keep putting out this quality content annnnd slightly increase their output on content.

8 AntwortenBeyond light is mediocre. It seems like a reskinned Forsaken. Just team up with old enemy to fight worse enemy and kill minions along the way. It was ok, and told a decent story, but nothing spectacular. Not what I expected given the amount of content they removed and the price they charged. Once you finish the story there is nothing captivating about this DLC at all. No 6 person event in the seasonal content either. Not even a real public event. (Sorry, the skiff escape doesn't really cut it as a public event.) It is barely more than CoO in terms of story. Replace Prophecies and Heroic Adventures (that CoO had) with Wrathborn and Empire hunts and you're basically at CoO. Prophecies also relied on grinding existing activities just like empire hunts. Plus we get to play old strikes and core activities just to get new grenades, etc.. Almost all the activities are centered around replay of core stuff. Yes we got a new strike (and a rehashed strike) instead of two story missions posing as strikes and we got a raid as opposed to a raid "lair". But does it justify the 2X price tag? Especially given the amount of removed content. Besides, the loot pool is pretty poor. There's no reason to go to the old locations unless you just want bounties, or maybe nostalgia. If they actually redo the XP grind so bounties aren't the main way to level up there will really be no reason to visit Nessus, EDZ or the moon. Tangled Shore and Dreaming City will exist only because of Wrathborn missions. So we'll have a rehashed Cosmodrome and Europa. That is all. I have two characters. I thought about starting a third, but what's the point? No starting at 1 and working my way up. No Red War etc. Here you are, new toon at 1050 and one story to get to 1250. Just not worth it. I could delete my characters, empty my vault and start over and that still wouldn't be much to do. I don't raid or do crucible and yet I'm still at 1245 (base) after only two resets. Next week I'll be at 1250/100, if I'm smart about pinnacles. But LL grind is not content. So why am I bothering? Well I paid for the DLC and annual pass. My mistake. I'll get to 1250 base and 100 just to be positioned for next season. Maybe something good will come of it. But probably not really. It'll just be another grind for 50 light and 100 seasonal levels.

There's not much content, and what there is sees you running it several times over, on each character, just to unlock everything. I've been grinding up my second char the last couple of days - it took me over two weeks to even get on to a second char as it's so dull - and it has really hit home how little there is and how often we have to repeat it. And that's just the new stuff. Then there's the overreliance on old existing core playlists. Run 3 strikes. Run 3 Gambit matches. Run 3 NFs etc. At the best of times this is 'yawn' but when these core playlists have had little to no attention, and a lot of stuff removed, 'yawn, yawn, yawn.' Empire Hunts are reskinned campaign / post campaign missions. Whenever strikes have been added / stolen from / been part of the campaign, the forums have been up in arms. I see no difference here with Yawn Hunts. At least Gambit matches are generally very short now. Edit Oh, and the lack of loot. And all the issues and glitches. And cheats still running rampant in the woeful-since-beta PvP. At least the greed / dress shop is fully stocked for the fools.

Beyond Light is good "because" the rest of the game isn't. I honestly thought BL would've been Bungies best yet, it isn't even close, it's just more lipstick on the pig.

12 AntwortenIf you don't have BL, they've completely dumped in you. I mean they've assuredly dumped on all of us by mandating routine early obsolescence for all our loot and equipment. However if you bought previous content and not BL it's been the mother of all cons and betrayal: it's literally just a season of major removal of nearly all content and loot leaving just Crucible in a P2W state, PvE diminished and Gambit reduced.

I'm going to give everyone some advice. If you have a problem with the this game, other games, Bungie, other developers, the industry as a whole and you want change? It's a two (2) step plan and both have to be done in order to get all of the industry "normalities" to end. First off, state your issue or issues in clear, consist, stoic language. You have got to stop with the emotional charged speeches. Not just the topics but you have to stop using emotional language in your posts. Bungie is a company first and do not understand any circumstance care about you, your situation, your family or anyone else's life unless it seems to be a social charged subject, such as; religion, politics, social issues, (i.e; gender, race, sexual preference and so on) and only care if it seems to open up the demographic to potential customers. This is about only one thing: money. So in the plainest of terms; make your case, state the details of the issue and wait patiently for a response. If a quick and consist response does arrive, move on to second step. Second, this is the most important part of this step towards constructive and position changes to not just our favorite game but for this industry as a whole. You have to have the will, the fortitude, to stop spending money and your valuable time on these companies by playing the games they're wasting both of the resources you give them. The will not, I repeat, will not stop this course of action if you (the gaming community as a whole) continue to support them no matter what they do. Bungie's staff and Bungie's investors want results in the form of your play time and your money. If they don't have either of those, over time, they won't have either until they make meaningful changes. If you do these two (2) things, you'll start to see change. Emotionally charged, ultimatum lined posts aren't going to change anything. Take your time and money somewhere else till they change. I hope this helps you all.

I know prophecy was removed for rework but when it’s added back in the dungeons should at least be a powerful. These activities are some of the best in the game, why nullify hard work and a job well done?

If they gave you incentives to play old content, you wouldn't buy the new content. It's simple. Bungie only cares about how to nickel and dime the player

Seriously. I think sunsetting planet specific gear was a bad move. None of the planetary weapons were overused (except maybe the moon GL) and they were certainly not overpowered. Besides the moon GL and maybe the Dreaming City HC, I feel like none of them really got their time to shine. I’d love to use Loud Lullaby for unstoppable champions in Nightfalls, heck, maybe even the Altars of Sorrow slug shotgun, which honestly isn’t the best. All the Dreaming City Weapons are so beautifully designed that I’d still farm those if they weren’t sunset. The DC hand cannon and Shotty were also great, but now those weapons are practically useless. #feelsbadman

I feel like a lot of stuff needs a update, mainly the bounty system and powerful rewards system. They’ve become way too much of a day-in, day-out activity. Very monotonous and mindless and could really use a fresh coat of paint at the least.

We spend 90% of our time in the part that hasn’t been touched in a very long time. This game is Bungie baby and we may need to call child protective services. Having said that beyond light is fantastic.
