Sniper Rifles should be massively cumbersome & have really slow ADS & Reload/Handling
They should never be able to quickscope/headshot at medium to short range
With the Sniper having to Hardscope to hit the target (and have that Minute of Angle (MoA) feel true to the weapon)
This allows a place for Scout Rifles to profit (and allows a scout/pulse rifle wielding player to push past the Snipers view and have the sniper have to descope and move positions
As for Maps, Why Bungie ever took Equinox out & are also removing Vostok (the biggest map on D2) is just baffling
The old Moon D1 Combined Arms map First Light & Bastion would also be great for long & mid range weapon types
I’m sure there was a D1 map in the wide spaces of the Mothyards in the Cosmodrome ?

If the maps where bigger I'd say give them some heft but since most maps are shoeboxes they need to be snappy to have any chance

There’s no real reason why the maps that are returning from D1 couldn’t be stretched a little Maps that returned to D2 (Bannerfall & Burning Shrine) were both inexplicably shrunk for some reason

nope. Destiny 2 already has a problem with guns that have low handling feeling like shit to use. there is a reason 99% of people wont use a sniper if it doesnt have snapshot or at least quickdraw. it just feels horrible to play with. Snipers having to hardscope would make the game even slower and less enjoyable to play. it also makes sniping less enjoyable because you have to play that way. the reason why snipers are even fun at all is because unlike other games, in d2 you arent forced to sit back and camp with a sniper. basically, those changes would make sniping horrible and also feel horrible to do.

Thing is, is that most weapons in destiny aren't exactly cumbersome. Shotguns aren't cumbersome, fusions aren't cumbersome, rockets and grenade launchers aren't cumbersome. So many weapons that should be clunky...aren't and probably shouldn't be because it feels like crap. You make snipers clunky and incredibly restrictive and they will drop off, hard. Part of their viability comes from how quickly you can scope and reposition with them and in a game like destiny where you rocket around incredibly fast...its pretty critical that they maintain a level of speed in terms of handling. I understand what you want to go for, but it wouldn't work, not in destiny. Targeting the zoom and fixing the broken flinch is the only real changes they can make that won't kill them and even still adjusting the zoom too much could have a terrible effect on them.

With that handling detail, the first thing that comes to mind is the Kraber from Titanfall which is super clunky as a sniper and has an actual weighted projectile that drops after hitting its peak range. It could one shot any Pilot or npc infantry but there was virtually zero aim assist and you had to lead your shots for them to be accurate. I would honestly love to have a sniper in D2 that functioned just the same.

Loved that sniper in Titanfall 2. First time I felt like I was being rewarded for taking my time to get the perfect shot in an online shooting game. Most shooters when it comes to sniping feels like a run n gun play style, Gears of War was pretty much shoot and dive.

That moment when someone up on a building’s roof calls down an Ogre or Ronin and you land a perfect headshot as they’re about to jump in.

But that would make all the CoD pros quit, Bungie trying to keep the sweat lords at bay.

That sounds like a bonus 😆

Can’t lie I absolutely despise those maps (Vostok and Equinox) but I think maps in general should just get a rework. Kinda like how the vaulted planets are getting their lighting and stuff reworked, you can rework the size of vaulted maps
