Something the devs don’t get enough shit for is how long it takes for them to do updates for this game.
I’ve seen how long it takes to design entire landscapes and dimensions in mods from scratch (which are on a far much larger scale than this update) and it takes about 6 or 7 months total. This update will probably come next year given the Nether update snapshots lasted basically that long.
The most embarrassing part of this is that these are teams of 2 or 3 for the most part and it takes them that long vs qualified well versed in coding and most importantly, a large amount of workers.
But Mojang can do no wrong I guess. I hope one day they massively -blam!- up like Yanderedev and people begin to point out their horrific update speeds.

Minecraft is an indie game, with a relatively small dedicated base of devs. So naturally updates are going to be slow, especially since they’ve been developing 2 games for the past couple of years now. Another point, Minecraft is not a live service game. It’s a sandbox, online multiplayer game, that heavily relies on the player for its own content, not the devs. Not only is it extremely unfair to compare it to AAA titles or WIP’s it’s pointless. These updates are free, Minecraft never had to put out these updates, these are updates improve, and add amazing features to the game, for the low price of nothing. Comparing Mojang to Yandere Dev is stupid, Yandere Dev spends his time having shit takes and drinking jìzz. Minecraft as a game has been ‘complete’ for a long time, while Yandere Simulator has been in development for 6 years+. Minecraft achieved more in that time than Yandere Simulator ever will. Anyways, I think the pace they release these game expanding updates is fine the way it is, the only gripe I have, is why they don’t just give us all three mobs from the mob vote instead of just one.
