I was thinking about book genres and started thinking fondly on the Sword and Planet sub-genre.
So, have any of you ever read the Barsoom series?
No, I'm not going to post less esoteric name of the series, that would be too easy.
Love Edgar my guy.

Yep. Read tons of Edgar Rice Burroughs when I was a teenager, but not Tarzan. Read the first Tarzan years later, but didn't like it. He goes out and kills a lion just because he's bored. Not cool Tarzan. Have you read Conan the Barbarian by Robert E. Howard? I also liked Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser series by Fritz Leiber. A more modern series is the Morgaine saga by C. J. Cherryh who is, in my opinion, one of the best sf/fantasy writers ever.

I’ve... actually never heard of that before. 🤔

The -blam!- is sword and planet

I don't know why Barsoom sounds so familiar... I'm pretty sure I haven't read the books.

Sadly, I have not read the books themselves, but I do want to. They seem interesting.
