Unfortunately, in the real world cheating is a life skill.

I'd argue "not getting caught" is the actual skill. Any punk off the street can take a shortcut.
-
That's just one form of cheating. Exploiting a system is another in which getting caught doesn't matter.
-
I dunno mayne. Know a dude who ran train on unemployment. Dude def got caught, and that definitely mattered.

I have a brother who's a property rights lawyer. A few of his clients were clearly gaming the system but are technically working within the law. Part of the reason he's leaving his old firm (and New York in general) is because his conscience doesn't have the stomach for the kind of people they were working with.
technically working within the law.
Ayy, technically legal is the best type of legal 😅 Real talk though, I sort of find this interesting. Like the different angles. Your brother's clients seem to be in some legal gray area. By our interpretation that might be cheating. To someone else... what they're doing is technically legal... some folks would argue that doesn't even count as a cheat. Further still, some folks would possibly go so far as to applaud that behavior. What's your thoughts on "irl cheats" versus "irl exploits"? I know if I found the irl lootcave from Vanilla Destiny I'd be tempted. Insurance fraud or some such thing not so much. Like... the moral gray area of a 'sploit versus cheatcodes.

Exploiting a loot cave is "cheating", but it's arguably not a punishable offense. I'd call something "cheating" if you're not playing by the spirit of the rules. For example, a sports team could have their crappy players injure the star player or players on the opposing team and just take the foul as the better players swap in for them. It's not how the game is intended to be played, and definitely unsportsmanlike, but technically you could do it and still have a "valid" win.
Unfortunately, in the real world cheating is a life skill.
I know it is and it sucks 😐. I've dealt with it before. My bf works by building engines. He has caught people pretending to work which is life threatening because they can combust. That's also why I keep asking him to please find another job. I don't want a call saying he is a pile of human crumbs.
