Edit 2: Damn so many people are ahead of me. I’m like 8 hours in yet I just beat Nessa lol. Though I did take a long detour to get Sirfetch’d.
That gym gave me the most trouble. For the most part I tried to beat everything on camera without Dynamaxing (i.e. everything in the Gym Challenge), but that gym was one of the two times I had to—the other being Leon himself.
Now, granted, I only had 3 or 4 Pokémon at the time, and one was Scorbunny, but still.

I went in with a team of 6, but only Drizzile (Sobble’s evo) and Sirfetch’d actually did anything, though Drizzile didn’t come out until Nessa’s Drednaw did after Sirfetch’d got worn down. Its rock typing and apparently very low special defense let Drizzile one shot it with the dynamax water type move. Sirfetch’d, despite not being overlevelled like everyone else, was able to easily handle the rest of the gym. Getting him on route 5 was the time consuming part lol.

If I’m being honest, I don’t remember my team. I know I had Corvisquire and either Scorbunny or Raboot, but most of my early game team got switched out, so I don’t really remember them. If it hadn’t evolved yet, I might’ve still had that coal Pokémon on my team, which also wouldn’t have fared well, obviously. I gave that one the boot as soon as it evolved, though.

You benched Carkol? Why though? I like it. Mine’s a mainstay of my team...
-
I thought it looked dumb. It’s final evolution wasn’t bad, and I love its furst stage, but I really didn’t like its mid-stage. Living inanimate objects only work if they’re Ghost types, imo. I did love the name I gave her, though; Coaloe. Haha, I’m clever!

I like its design. The little rolling feet are just great imo. What did you use in the fire gym?
-
I dunno, I guess I was hoping for something less manmade. I wanted a cute little rock fire monster. Hm.. I know I had Raboot and Corvisquire.. I think I also had a Hatenna at the time.. Oh, and I either had a Nickit or its evolution. Not sure if I picked up a 5th Pokémon by that time, though.

Bearbeitet von epicperon: 11/20/2019 4:37:28 AMWait when did you get a full team? And out of curiosity why didn’t you have one sooner? I have a habit of catching every pokemon that I haven’t registered yet and using the ones I like the most. I had a full team before getting to Motostoke for the first time
-
I had 3 Pokémon for the first two gyms, 4 for the third, and then 5 all the way up until the Semifinals, where I finally added a sixth member. The issue wasn’t me not catching Pokémon, though, I was just tossing them all in my box! I wanted to feel like I was slowly building up a team, along with my rivals, instead of just hauling around a team of six all the time.

So it’s a story-based handicap? Understandable.
-
Yeah. It feels kinda cheap when I win solely because I have twice as much Pokémon as my opponent.
