This is the healthiest the Crucible has been since early in D1.
The issue is you have streamers, stat farmers, and pub stompers who are mad because the game is no longer serving them up weaker players to be exploited.
Those who want a connection based game can play Classic Mix. Those who want 6v6 matches that are actually competitive can play Control.
The problem is that the vast majority have figured out that Control gives them a more enjoyable experience, so Classic Mix is a sweat box. Because all the pubstompers and stat-farmers are finding there are each other.

You’ve woken the hive.
nurf titans
Sols tags in Kellygreen for the hot tag team sbmm is on fire.🥴
-
I think you mean “Team Industry Standard.”
-
It’s funny how you guys always talk about what "the majority" wants….
-
Because we pay attention to what people do...and not what they say. Its clear that when you give the average PVP player a choice between CBMM and SBMM in 6v6....most of them choose SBMM. The SBMM playlist is having none of the problems that are afflicting Classic Mix right now. Which is generating tons of complaints about long MM times....and "super-sweaty" matches.
-
Sorry but these are all mere claims. Also the classic mix has some issues not related to match making. Interesting would be to see the numbers if there would be a control playlist that is CBMM and one that is SBMM.
-
Bearbeitet von TheArtist: 11/21/2019 12:30:09 AMClaims based on five years of watching what this community does, and learning which segments complaints to ignore. You’re seeing those numbers.
-
Where do I see those number? Claims are just claims no matter how many years you have been watching.
-
In all the complaints by high-skilled players who are struggling to get matches in a timely fashion in a CONNECTION-BASED play list. By all the complaints by high-skilled players who are largely only facing OTHER hight-skilled players. All of which point to a playlist with low player engagement...and one skewed heavily to the top-end of the skill curve. Because---all other things being equal----those are the players that benefit the most from a MM scheme that prioritizes connnection. Those players----as long as EVERYONE is forced into that play list----get to "have their cake and eat it too." The problem is that with people being given a skill-based alternative....they aren't being forced into that play list. So average players are given a choice between playing a list where they largely play people are somewhat around their own level of skill (SBMM)....or playing a list where they are almost always facing people who are significantly better than they are (CBMM). Not a hard choice for someone who is simply looking to play a game and have fun.

These are not numbers. This is more or less your felt reality. I am not saying Classic Mix is more popular as I don’t have any exact numbers to back it up but queue times for me a faster in Classic Mix. I would play prefer to play Control more as I am not a big fan of Supremacy. I would also correct this I think mostly below average players benefit from SBMM while above average players get punished. I am not opposed of having SBMM playlist. I see the need for them especially for new players. I think a simple solution would be a mixape style playlist where you can chose the game modes and match making preferences with the option of a freelance mode. The Classix Mix just isn’t enough for a CBMM playlist and it also became a stat pampering ground for stacking meta sweats. This is an issue and not related to content creators.
-
It's almost as if the main focused playlists get the most players and therefore greatest diversity....its also almost as if the playlist with the smallest icon in a corner means most dont see it... You yourself prove this last year when you cried for the entire forsaken because the main focused playlist was cbmm while every other one was full sbmm and you could have chosen them at any time....
-
Disagree emphatically.
-
Bearbeitet von TheArtist: 11/20/2019 4:59:37 PMYour choice. But the fact that Control seems to be getting all the play....and PVP engagement numbers are almost TRIPLE what they were this time last year...... As we used to say in my baseball days, "The scoreboard doesnt' lie."
-
Again where are the numbers showing everybody plays Control?
-
You mean now that the game is free to play it has more players then when not? Shocking
-
It doesn’t fit their narrative. Another problem I see with the classic mix is the inclusion of Supremacy which seems not particularly liked.
-
it's one of Sols yay sayers. It was just a matter of time when he would show up....

"You can only get better by playing better players" is always an interesting reply from them since skill factoring is the only way to ensure you're always going to be facing better players. When no skill is factored, the better you get, the less quality opponents you face (law of averages). The reality is that they can't still "feel like they're improving" because they have reached their maximum potential and so need to be fed blueberries to feel superior.
-
Not every top player wants to be fed blueberries. That's an unfair stereotype. I think most players want good clean matches where they feel they are contributing to their team and having fun. I'm not a top tier player. My KD is barely higher than yours but my SBMM lobbies are horrific. And traveler forbid one of my friends asks for an invite...they see and feel the changes immediately. Can't even have fun with a friend here and there cause they are frustrated and angry the whole time. I dont want to drag them through my shitshow. We need a middle ground and right now we don't have it. For those like me, the mostly solo bluecollar scrapper fighting for a spot at the top...there is no respite. You and those comparable to you have a good experience. The stacks and stat farmers have a good experience. But what about me and those like me... we're effed.
-
You have a connection-based playlist.
-
Not a solo one
-
There comes a point where you divide up the player base too much and everyone's experience suffers. Bungie is taking the route where they're trying to give the best experience to the most people..... ....and the strength of the engagement numbers suggest that its working. Numbers are high...and its a small minority of players who are complaining. With most of those being PVP streamers whose business models need for them to be fed the steady stream of weaker players that CBMM offers. But of that group only Mtashed seems to be willing to be honest about it.
-
I get that but it's still not fair for players like me. The current cbmm is for stat farming stacks and the sbmm playlist for me doesn't really change that. Currently I can only find some relief is elim labs and solo legend comp...that just doesn't seem right to me. If bungie made a solo list for comp then they can do it for qp like we had in D1. I really don't care if I have to play high skill players I do care that i can't get away from premades destroying lobbies. I would like to chill and have fun too.
-
Bearbeitet von TheArtist: 11/20/2019 7:04:31 PMI feel for you. I stopped playing QP because I got tired of getting farmed. But a game that tries to please everyone winds up pleasing no one. Bungie's already been down that road with Destiny 1.....and wound up (at one point) with 13 or 14 different full time playlists....and terrible connections for everyone.
