Bugged Gear Progression?
I decided to pick up destiny 2 again and play the new Shadowkeep expansion with some friends. All starting at 750 light level. I noticed that I hit a hard soft cap at 900 light and started to get prime engrams that only increase my light by one and I stopped getting progression gear (I am familiar with the light level progression after you hit the soft cap). My other two friends that I played with still kept getting normal progression gear drops all the way until they hit soft cap light level of 950. Is there something wrong with my character?
TLDR: I'm soft cap at 900, my friends are soft cap at 950. Why is my character not soft cap at 950 with everyone else?

The soft cap is 900 for everyone. At that point only Prime Engrams, pvp rank ups and powerful/pinnacle rewards will be progression gear (and usually only +1/+2) until 950. Shadowkeep added 10 extra levels on top of the 950 "hard cap", only obtainable with pinnacle rewards. So there are two soft caps now.

Bearbeitet von toneDef Weary: 11/5/2019 1:59:21 PMGet yourself that 950 Werewolf from the FotL event. It's worth it for the boost to drops alone. Edit - And to answer your question, the first tier of softcap comes at 900. Then you'll get slightly better drops as you hit the higher tier of 950.
