Oh look, swords. Bungie would probably care, except swords have been the worst weapon in the game since D2's launch, and they've done nothing about it, so... don't expect anything. Well, I mean, there might be a new sword skin in eververse or something, I suppose.

The only time you should ever have a sword equipped is for abusing game mechanics like making impossible jumps to get raid chests so you don't actually have to bother raiding.

At least side arms don’t take heavy ammo and where at least good at some point in destiny 2

The only sidearm I ever liked was Trespasser and that wasn’t even Destiny 2.

I misread, I thought you were talking about D1. Swords could be good if the extra resistance they had in D1 was added back onto them, at least in PvE. Maybe add knockback resistance to them as well.

What's stupid is blocking drains more and as you said you take much more damage blocking than any point in d1. The whole efficiency/defense thing is pointless.

Their good for single target DPS. They wreck non boss, yellow and orange enemies.

There’s plenty of other weapons that also do that and don’t take a heavy slot or heavy ammo and also can boss dps. But either way swords are still fun to run patrols with

Which any other heavy weapon, or even special weapon can do just as effectively, without requiring you to run into the the countless bullet sponges that'll just stomp you a hundred meters away upon approach.
