Vanguard and Crucible Loot System Suggestion (for new and old loot)

I had this thought for a while since Forsaken. I haven't seen anyone else talk about something like this, so I thought it deserved a post. As a lot of players have noticed, there still isn't many reasons to grind Strikes or the Crucible with there being almost no new gear aside from Year 1 2.0 armor and Ritual Weapons. Content in these modes does feel limited. So here's my suggestion to the devs, which is about as simple as I can think of but probably the quickest fix and/or best fix. Give Strikes (regular Strikes) and Crucible matches their own 'end of activity' loot table with new loot. I know a lot of the designers are probably busy with future content a lot of the time, so this new loot could simply be Year 1 weapons brought up with random rolls and another set of Year 1 armor, since there are multiple sets. It could be a nice way to reintroduce these items into today's Destiny 2. And while this could be a thing, you could turn in your tokens to Zavala and Shaxx for the current loot that they offer so anyone who missed out on Year 2 loot can continue to grind for those as well. Here's some examples. Crucible: The time ran out and the match is ending. We lost, but I see the game giving me Crucible Tokens and... a Year 3 Retrofuturist shotgun. It came with Pulse Monitor and Snapshot Sights as its main perks. Strikes: Brakion, the Genesis Mind, is no more. The chest spawns and I see a Legendary Engram pop out of it. I pick it up and it gives me... The Showrunner SMG. It rolled with Zen Moment and High-Impact Reserves as its main perks. It also rolled with Steady Rounds, which I don't think it needs but I might try it. I feel like there is a good opportunity for loot in this system. It worked for Destiny 1. Crucible matches had a chance to drop Matador 64 shotguns in Year 3, but if Shaxx gave you a shotgun, it was Two to the Morgue, which did not drop from Crucible matches themselves during that year. And if you decide to make this change in Destiny 2, I wouldn't think you'd have to mess with Zavala or Shaxx's vendor menus. The only things you'd be modifying are 'end of activity' drops from Strike chests or Crucible match rewards. At least, that's how I assume the code is built for those systems from what I know. Everyone does it differently. Could you guys who work at Bungie pass this idea around? It is something I'd very much love to see as someone who likes to hunt for loot. EDIT: When I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if the scopes and sights on a gun are part of the model. I believe the Long Shadow sniper has a unique design to its scopes with that extra piece on it. Making this change would probably still take a while, I imagine. So, I wouldn't expect something like this to happen that soon.
