You can just go to Petra to pick up the map fragment steps. If you want to do the quest solo, you can skip the Nightfall one by doing the Kill Hive on Tangled Shore, 3 Patrols and Nessus Rocket Launcher kills. Then delete the Nightfall step, seek out the Ascendant chest on Nessus and get the 3 patrol step again.
