Upgraded from ryzen 2400g and RX 580 to Ryzen 3600 and RX 5700 Previously could run at 130 reso scale on low with some other add ins and no issues. Have had nothing but stuttering and freezing issues since "upgrade". seems to be issues with new drivers of course but I've found playing without any resolution scaling "super sampling" has helped a little bit. still extremely annoying. Especially since I went all in this PC life since they announced cross save. Is there anything that can be done. I've turned every post processing POS AMD item off in Settings already. Is it possible Freesync is causing the problem?

  • Hi, I have a similar trouble, I had a GTX 1060 and just recently upgraded to an RTX 2060 and I am having stutter here and there. You can try disabling Freesync Downloading and using Intelligent Standby Cleaner and setting the value to 2048 MB in "The list size is at least" and "Free memory is lower than" Disabling this: [win]+[r] >> Services.msc >> Diagnostic Policy Service [Disable] Doing these things helped me a little although I still get stutter even locking to 60 FPS.

  • After lots of messing around turning off free sync helped with the bad screen tearing but my issue now is some sort of insane fps drops at the beging of any activity. I'm going to try a different hard drive this evening and just keep trying.

I have my Destiny game on an SDD and still had the stutter sometimes... In relation to tearing and input lag I can tell you that even without freesync, you can get a good experience putting Vsync On, and limiting your framerate 2 or 3 frames below your refresh rate. Say you have a 60 Hz monitor Vsync On and FPS Limit to 58, with this, you won't have tearing but you won't have too much input lag either. I read in some articles that Vsync by itself adds like 40ms, but this method I am telling you only adds like 14ms Besides that, I also get more stutter by having the game in fullscreen mode, so I use windowed fullscreen which has less stutter for me

  • Turns out something is wrong with the SSD. Changed to a hybrid drive I had lying around and it stopped. My theory is a problem with ryzen sleeping cores and the SSD providing the information to fast for the CPU to keep up.
