Cross Save not worth it for people that play multiple accounts because:

Please correct me if I'm wrong here Bungie, but...
Do my previous game purchases transfer across platforms? No. The things you have purchased from your PC or Console stores will remain on the platforms where you bought them. These includes games or balances of Silver. Cross Save enables you to access the Guardians and Collections on one Active Account from wherever you play. The things that you acquire for your characters in the game are what move with you from one platform to another.
Sounds like this translates to forfeiting any Eververse purchases/items on the "inactive" accounts while cross save is enabled. In other words, for a number of people, using this "free service" is saying "goodbye purchases" on their other platforms unless they plan to periodically disable it... but then the issue with that becomes:
Can I disable Cross Save once I’ve enabled it? Cross Save is intended to be a one-time action, but we realize there may be cases in which you want to visit the characters you left behind. Once Cross Save has been disabled, you will have access to your original characters on each platform. There is a 90-day wait to re-enable the feature. This policy exists to discourage activity like account recoveries by other players.
This is on top of forfeiting any triumphs, collections, progress, veteran status, and so on that you have on those other existing platforms as long as the service is enabled. In short, unless you currently play on only one account and want to purchase Forsaken, Annual Pass, and Shadowkeep on other platforms to make full use of the service, it is not really worth using short of wanting to help out new light players, but you could just play as new light yourself on those other platforms. The alternative is to bounce between using it and not using it with roughly 3 month breaks between toggling it off and back on again. IMO, that is not worth the hassle. I like the idea of cross save, but it feels like it has a ways to go yet. I hope there is an improvement to the system at some point to make it feel worth consolidating down to a single account for people that have already been playing on multiple platforms. (Example, instead of what is currently proposed, also have the preexisting guardians available in the character select with their respective inventories/purchases so people that spent money in the store don't feel like they're just throwing cash to the wind, assuming any sort of merge is out of the question.)

You don't forfeit any triumphs, collections, progress, status, or Silver. When you cross-save, all other accounts you have on the previous platform simply become dormant and inactive. As the second quote says, you are able to reactivate your other accounts by disabling the cross-save and you will be able to re-access your account and Silver on the platform you previously used. Everything you obtained or progressed in-game (triumphs, collections, etc.) carries over. You then have to wait 90 days to perform another cross-save action. Silver is purchased outside of the game and is locked to the platform they were purchased on (PS, XB, or Steam), which is why they don't transfer with you to a different platform service provider when you use cross-save. Cross-save is not meant to be a consolidating action. It is not there to take things from different accounts and then merge into one. At least not yet. However, it probably never will be because of account recoveries.
