Still shotgun meta. Good shotgunners can easily beat erintil by luring them around a corner. I can guarantee that most high tier competitive is still filled with more shotguns then fusion rifles. Radar may not be the most reliable, but they still know how to use them. Backup plan still does not work fast enough at close range.

Back up plan works against any shotgunner that tries to push. You have to bait a fusion around a corner to beat them, but let's be real. A high tier comp fusion player isn't going to do that.

I’ve played a fusion all the way up to 4700 (last season) Shotguns are the more effective choice for top tier players... and I had to switch to a shotgun to keep finding success in the high 4ks That said, fusions are extremely easy and for basically everybody except top tier players are the easy mode choice that ups their game to a level they couldn’t reach with any other loadout...

Personally, I'd like to see pellet spread RNG to go away and precision frame shotguns to become aggressive frame shotguns to make shotguns more consistent in terms of effectiveness and their drawbacks (precision frame shotguns are just aggressive frames with none of the drawbacks), while at the same time buffing the underused fusion archetypes to actually get a broader understanding of the position of Fusion rifles in PvP. Maybe then we'll see if Erentil really is a problem or not. If it is, it might be easier to balance at that point.

Eh, aggressive frames can do a few things that precision frames can’t... Sure in terms of max range they are about identical, but at slightly closer ranges aggressive frames seem to be more forgiving in terms of pellets needed for a kill, And... my personal favorite... an aggressive frame shotty in an empowering rift for yeeting on roaming supers

But if pellet spread RNG isn't in your favor after a shot with an aggressive frame, you lose the fight. Precision frames have a faster follow up shot and significantly more handling. The low handling on aggressives makes them shoot to the side on a moving target a lot. Precisions don't have this issue. Maybe once super resilience is calmed down, only aggressives will be able to shotgun melee a super to kill it. Maybe that'll set them apart more. I just wish they're were either much more different or just lumped together.

That’s a fair point, I would say that the best shotgun in game ATM is probably mindbenders ambition however... If you get a full choke/rifled +accurized and range masterwork roll it will have the longest OHK range and most consistent feeling too. Plus it can roll QuickDraw and snapshot on top of all of that...
