Playing with Mouse and Keyboard or Controller?
So I finally purchased a mid tier gaming pc and I'm a total noob to gaming pc. I've played consoles my whole life and never used a mouse and keyboard. I still play Destiny 2 on my xbox but I plan on switching over to pc full time when cross save becomes available. I've been told mouse and keyboard is a lot easier but I've never used it a day in my life for gaming. I'm just looking for some tips, maybe the best pc control layouts for my transition. Or should I just stick to a controller for destiny. Just hating the idea of being one of those noob players while learning everything. Any tips or help would be appreciated.

Right from the start, you are going to notice a few things that make D2 feel better on PC even if you stick with a controller. The field of view being increased makes the game feel much faster, recoil on most guns is really low, fps, refresh rate, etc. So you're going to have a better experience no matter how you control the game. I have an 11 button mouse (D2 only recognizes 5 of them though) that has taken a lot of my keyboard commands like reloading and Super activation off the keyboard. In my opinion, KB&M is the way to go, but if you don't like it, there is nothing wrong with using an Xbone controller on PC. You can even use both, albeit only one at a time. Play on the keyboard until your fingers get tired, then switch seamlessly to controller. You have a lot of options here.

Mouse and keyboard 100%. Just give it time and you will be comfortable on it. Once you're comfortable you will not regret switching to m and k.

I recommended trying M&K first and getting some practice. I run controller personally just in PvP since it feels more comfortable and I can go longer times without my hands hurting If you did fine on console with controller, you’ll do fine on Pc with controller!

2 AntwortenI would suggest using mouse and keyboard as much as you can without wearing yourself out just to be able to get used to the feel and adjust the settings to your needs. I'm sure others are going to suggest key bindings that will help a console player out :). What do you mean by "sticking to controller"?

use what is comfortable to you. MNK is not god mode, average players will do about the same with either, until you reach high skill levels then MnK will shine but those same high skill players would still destroy with a controller .

For sure best advice I can give is do what you feel best in. If you can play at your best on controller but can't aim on M&KB, use your controller. If you want practice with M&KB though, I would just go into something like patrol and just shoot some stuff. After a while of killing them you should have a good handle on it. This by the way is coming from someone who played Xbox for years prior to D2 releasing on PC and thought I'd only ever be comfortable on controller, though now feel so much better on M&KB. It's all up to personal preference, but don't be afraid to practice with the other if you want to try it out.
