(Iron Banner) How To Farm/Grind For Weapons

Hey everyone, and top of the morning/afternoon/night to you, :) The new Iron Banner quest created an unforeseen opportunity for everyone who loves to grind for guns, and especially in crucible. Here's a video version of this info for those who don't want to read all of this text: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZxk6pdYctE. The quest has 10 different steps, and for each two steps you complete, you unlock one of the 5 iron banner armor pieces available during Season of Opulence. Each time you unlock one armor piece, that piece will be added to the Iron Banner loot pool. You see, because of how the quest is designed, until you unlock your first armor piece, the only thing you'll get from Iron banner end of match rewards, powerful bounties, and token redemption, are guns. So, with that in mind and to help you farm weapons in the most optimal way, here are a few tips that I hope to be of value to you if you're interested in this: For Guardians With Only One Character 1. Don't pick up the Iron Banner quest line. If you have picked up the quest, you can abandon it. Don't worry though, because you will still be able to pick it up from Saladin again if you want to. 2. If you already started the quest but haven't unlocked your first armor piece, abandoning the quest will reset all the progress you made for the quest so far. But by doing this, you'll make sure you have only weapons in the loot pool, which is the goal here. 3. If you already unlocked a few armor pieces, by quitting the quest I think (I'm not 100% sure here) you'll only reset the progress you made for the current armor piece you were working on unlocking. Even if you unlocked a few armor pieces, it's better to quit the quest, because having 5 armor pieces in the loot pool is worst than 2 or 3, because the chances of getting a weapon will decrease the more armor piece you have unlocked. 4. Complete the quest during the last few days of Iron Banner, during the last Iron Banner week of Season of Opulence, which will be in August. This guarantees that you still get the armor set (if you care about it) while giving you as much time as possible to farm for guns when Iron Banner is in town during Season of Opulence. If you don't care about the armor set, don't finish the quest during this season. For Guardians With Two or More Characters 1. If you want the armor set and farm for guns, you can unlock the armor set with your favorite character and use one of your other characters to farm for guns using tokens. Since the quest line is character based, if you don't complete the quest with one of them, that character will only get weapons from Saladin if you redeem your tokens with it. 2. If you complete your powerful bounties before advancing any of the step quests with your favorite character, by claiming the bounties you will only get weapons. So this might be a good way to guaranty 8 weapon drops with your favorite character, if you're not worried about using those bounties to increase your power. 3. As soon as you start unlocking armor pieces with your favorite character, end of match rewards will have a chance to drop armor pieces and not only guns, so do keep that in mind. 4. If you want to get the armor set for your least used character, complete the quest with it during the last few days of Iron Banner, during the last Iron Banner week of Season of Opulence, which will be in August. This guarantees that you still get the armor set for it (if you care about it) while giving you as much time as possible to farm for guns when Iron Banner is in town during Season of Opulence. If you don't care about the armor set for that character, don't finish the quest with it during this season. That's pretty much it I think. And do make sure you win more matches than you lose, because winning gives more tokens than losing (Lord of Wolves ... cough ... cough ... :P). Please let me know if you know of other ways to make the weapon farming as optimal as possible. Hope this helps out in any way. Have fun and here's to finding more god rolls in Iron Banner. :) Take care, Janaquim
