Xbox One X “Connecting” Loop

Hello. My Xbox One X has suddenly lost its ability to connect to the Destiny 2 servers. The game boots up, but once I press “A” to connect, it moves to the connecting screen - where it will hang indefinitely. The connection is wired, and my NAT type is open. I have, in no particular order, dumped the cashe on the XBX, restarted my router, cleared the secondary DNS on the console, booted from a back-up install on the system’s internal HDD (my main install is on an external HDD), tried to connect through WIFI, and assigned a static IP. Interesting thing, is that it connects to Destiny 1 just fine, as I did so just to test and see if it was a me & Bungie connection thing, which it doesn’t appear to be. Every other game I tried (including D1) connect and play fine on the same console, connection, and network. I am in Northeast Ohio, and my internet provider is AT&T U-Verse. I’ve googled the issue, and while I’m not alone in developing this problem apparently, I can’t find a solution that has worked. Also of note: My son was playing on his GT moments before I tried to play. He finished a Gambit match and went to orbit, then exited D2. I restarted the console, and tried to log-in. Then this happened. That was about 3 hours ago now. Can anybody be of help to me in figuring this out? I’m completely perplexed. Thank you

  • For anybody that wanders by with this problem, I was able to fix this by erasing D2 completely off of my external HDD, taking the external HDD to a friend's house, and copying the game files from their console onto it. When I brought it home, it connected without issue. Seems like the problem was some kind of corruption in the game files themselves. Anyway, hope that helps someone. I'm back up and running now.

      Hey there, I’d recommend clearing the console cache. Please see the steps below for the recommended steps on how to clear the cache on a console. 1. Power down the console 2. Once the console is completely powered down, unplug the power cord from the back of the console 3. Let the console sit unplugged for at least 5 minutes 4. Plug the power cord back into the console and power it on 5. Re-launch the Destiny game Let me know if you need anymore assistance afterwards. Hope this helps!
