Well there's your problem, you're playing from Australia. Take it up with your government to get off their ass and follow through with the NBN and divorce Telstra...
Dedis aren't going to magically make Australia's broadband infrastructure amazing...

Obviously, you don't understand the issues with the NBN and why we cant do that or you wouldn't of brought it up. Don't make comments on things you don't understand.
Obviously, you don't understand the issues with the NBN and why we cant do that or you wouldn't of brought it up.
Actually, the issues with the NBN are exactly why I brought it up. I thought that much was obvious...
Don't make comments on things you don't understand.
Speaking of things you don't understand, if you were aware of how bad Australia's national infrastructure is, why are you trying to shift the blame? Sure, Bungie's algorithm is pretty bad, but Australia's issues stand out a lot more than your run of the mill server complaints.

Bearbeitet von Bretto: 1/24/2019 5:40:03 AMDoesn't matter how good the infrastructure is. You're never going to overcome the massive latency disadvantage connecting from Australia to USA (about 250 ping). In a low TTK game its almost impossible to overcome if skill levels are similar. And yes. Australian communication infrastructure is 3rd world at best.

The issue with fixing the NBN is what i was referring to. It isn't a matter of the Australian Government getting off their ass it is a matter of the Australian Economics and Australia not having the Funds to fix the NBN anytime soon. Plus why do i only have these issues on Destiny and not Ubisoft's Rainbow Six: Siege which has dedicated servers. I know Australia has bad internet, I live here but that doesnt make it all our fault

Rainbow Six Siege has Dedicated Severs that allows me to play against people from Australia and New Zealand on a ping of 20. Our internet is bad but its not a big issue if I play in the ANZ region. If Bungie matches me against other Australians I don't have issues with connection.

Algorithmic changes would make a much bigger change than dedis would, but as it is, even us in NZ have a terrible time connecting with you guys across the ditch. We get put into the same lobbies, I play games with Americans all the time too, but I don't have any issues connecting with them. It's a straight line to them across the Southern Cross submarine cable, we get a better connection with the West Coast than the West Coast gets with the East Coast. Sorry, but the blame here lies with the Australian Government in the 90's selling out to Telstra. They need to hurry up with the Telstra Separation Framework if you want to maintain a decent connection with the rest of the world.

A player from NZ connects to the West coast with a ping of 140+ on average. The west coast to east coast generally has 100 Ping. Also your across the pond connection issue seems to be a personal one as I have never experienced that.

Technically Region based connection. Australia and New Zealand are part of the same Region. Those numbers were pulled from experience playing with people from NZ on West coast servers in Rainbow Six: siege. The west coast to east coast stat comes from watching streamers play games on dedicated servers across regions as well as forum posts across other titles with dedicated servers
