New Class advice

Hello. I played roughly 300 hours as Titan, and as most solo questing activities are approaching their obvious depletion (or frustrating too much to bear, yes, Sleeping nodes, I'm looking at you;)), I've been thinking in starting new class. But honestly, seeing other people playing Warlock and Hunter I'm not sure I'm fit to play any of them. Hunters seems to be requiring better reaction then I can provide, dashing around like playing on 1.25 speed, and Warlocks ... uhm, well, other than Rift buffs they are complete mystery to me;). As I do not plan to participate in any PvP (I hope), and my co-op probably will be limited to strikes/Gambit, any advices you can share for newbie, to "extract" maximum enjoyment from playing them, and hinting which of these two classes should be first? I picked Titan because it fits into my "goalie" mentality most and I've been enjoying these played hours to the fullest, even in most frustrating moments (minus PvP step for Ace of Spades, that was horrible). While I've read some guides on classes, I haven't found authors whose words would "click" for me, but as local community always was the most helpful I ever met, I decided to ask here. So, would you kindly lend a hand?:) Thanks and take care.

  • Welll lemme tell ya about the underrated master race of this game, stormcaller Top tree: ngl I don’t use it a whole ton but you can blink in super and have a greater chain length of something like that (basically think nova warp but with less dps and more range I think) Bottom tree (where it gets good): You know that whole striker thing where they slam for massive damage? Well yea landfall let’s you do that basically. But, oh no! You lost most of your health getting to them and your gonna die like immediately? Oh wait nvm it’s all back bc my Apotheosis Veil helmet gave all my health and ability stuff back. Your melee is pretty cool, slightly more range than normal and recharges all your abilities and such. Nice! Also, you can make a friend! Using your rift you can make an arc soul, but I like to call him Jim. Jim loves to help out by shooting your enemies, sometimes before you see them if you’re not paying attention. Thanks, Jim! He also likes your other friends, so your rift comes back faster with allies near. He’s so friendly! Middle tree: You know that new super striker has where it goes all zoom on the enemies? What if… you could do that… without having to move? Well yea basically just do big beam from where you are, it’s pretty lit. Also, you know that thing I always do because I’m an idiot where you miss your new super slam and fly off a cliff? Well that doesn’t need to happen since you don’t need to move or anything. Have you ever thought, “wow, I really wish I could just stop and save my super energy for later because I’m out of things to kill? Well, it’s the only super in the whole game that lets you do that! Anyway, enough about how it’s basically the best super in the game. You know how everyone complained about how warlock melee had a really high range or something like that? THEY MADE IT A FEATURE!! Granted, it’s like a throwing knife or something like that but with (I think) more damage and (I think) more accuracy but with significantly less range, but. It’s not like you’re gonna miss it for long, because there’s this neato ability that I forget about a lot but see a whole bunch running all over the ground called ionic trace that gives you ability energy back sometimes when you kill stuff! Now, you might be thinking “wow, I sure do get stuff back fast, if only it could be even faster.” Well lemme tell ya about the Geomag Stablizers. Maybe you’re about to fight the primeval in Gambit. But, alas! You’re super isn’t back yet! Whatever shall you- oh wait nvm it was close enough that by running for a bit got your super back. Also, you go with your super and- wait where’d the primeval go? It’s dead? What?! Like 50%?! Oh, that’s right, Geomag also extends your super while you’re hitting something with it. Oh, there’s also this cool thing where when your almost dead you and your allies speed increases, not quite as impressive as everything else but it’s nice sometimes. So, Tl;Dr: Top tree is big chainy boi Bottom tree: Jim the Arc Soul is very helpful and friendly, also landfall+Apotheosis Veil=big good Middle tree: Using Geomags (and killing the envoys) can get you 50% or more on primeval damage, also it helps get that last little bit faster. It’s melee have big reach and killing stuff gives all your stuff back faster Stormcaller master race

    • Based on what you wrote, I think you might enjoy Warlock, especially Stormcaller. The wealth of crowd destruction will definitely be a shock (pun slightly intended) to your gameplay experience.

      • Do hunter. Warlock is being nerfed into the ground for some reason

        • If you are looking for a very different experience, you should go with a hunter. Their jumps are very different, and they do a lot of ability chaining, combining their melee abilities with their grenades or dodge skills and even weapons sometimes. The dodge can also be built in a lot of different ways. Warlocks are also somewhat different, but not as much as hunters. The jump is probably the hardest to learn in the game, and warlocks barely have any passive abilities that are not tied to your grenades/melee/rift/super. Most of the attunements are about playing in a specific way to get your abilities back faster.
