I did not encounter this issue until I got my new monitor. I thought it was something with the game update because it started around the time BA dropped. I've tried everything and the only way I can seem to get it to stop 100% is to drop my monitor back down to 60hz (I used to play on a 60hz monitor so I never had the issue). I tried bumping the refresh rate back up, and after a little bit of playing the problem comes back.

Bearbeitet von Korell: 1/12/2019 12:42:21 PMI have also started noticing this after I replaced my old 60Hz monitor with a 144Hz monitor. I've not tried limiting the game to 60Hz though - would it really be necessary to change the monitor to run at 60Hz as surely this is a software issue with the game and not a hardware issue? Oh, and I only really notice it in the open world areas after a little while. Anything else (e.g. strikes, crucible, gambit, raids, etc.) plays just fine.

Are you running two monitors or just one? If so, what is your second monitor set to?
-
Just one monitor. 1920x1080@144Hz. I'm also using a borderless fullscreen windowed mode (set in the game options) as it allows me to take screenshots and Alt-Tab easily.

Ah ok, I did a few changes (one won't apply to you since you don't have a second monitor). I changed my page filing to be: Min: 1024 x GB of Ram Max: 1.5 x Min So for me, I have 8gb of ram: Min: 1024 x 8 = 8192 Max: 8192 x 1.5 = 12288 To get to your page filing, go to Control Panel/System and security/ advanced system settings/under performance click settings/advanced tab and click change. Hopefully this can work for you too.

Why would you need a page file of 8GB to 12GB when you have 8GB of RAM? I just checked and Destiny 2, whilst I'm in the Tower managing my inventory, is only using a little over 2GB. Going to the EDZ and running/riding around a bit, it went up to about 2.3GB. Dropping in on the Dreaming City and it was 2.4GB. These seem quite low but there are probably other resources being used as a result of Destiny 2 being played. I have 16GB RAM and at present with the applications I have open and running (which includes Destiny 2) I'm at about 50% used (actually 8.5GB/16GB) so there is plenty of RAM available reducing the need for the page file to be used. Quitting Destiny 2 now brings my RAM usage down to 5.1GB, so that's 3.4GB back. So I can't see that Destiny 2 would cause more than 4GB of RAM to be used. For me, Windows (whch is set to automatically manage the page file) has set the values of 16MB minimum and 2937MB recommended, and the currently allocated page file is 2432MB. So it doesn't appear that I've ever needed more than 3GB page file on this machine. There's no way I'd up that to 8-12GB, or 16-24GB using your calculations against 16GB system RAM. I'm not saying that it hasn't fixed it for you, but RAM is faster than the page file and there's plenty of space in my RAM.

Also back to your first comment, If I left my monitor on any refresh rate over 60hz but capped the game at 60hz I would still get the issue. The only way to fix it was to set the monitor at 60hz itself (which obviously I don't want to have to do). Seems like it has to be something with the game trying to work with a higher refresh rate.

I'm honestly not sure. When I'm playing my RAM usage has been up around 6-7GB used and when I stop it goes down to 2 or 3GB. I highly doubted the page filing would be the cause as well. While it seems to be working, I'm still trying to find a true fix for this issue.

I just got a 165hz monitor for BA too and I have micro stutters and cannot for the life of me figure out why. I am NOT dropping back down to 60hz

Hi there and thanks for replying. I run two monitors and the other is only capable of running 60Hz 1080p. The main one is 165 1440p

My other monitor was only up to 60hz as well. I have done a few things and have seemed to make it stable. I put my second monitor to run off the integrated graphics card, and I changed my page filing to be: Min: 1024 x GB of Ram Max: 1.5 x Min So for me, I have 8gb of ram: Min: 1024 x 8 = 8192 Max: 8192 x 1.5 = 12288 To get to your page filing, go to Control Panel/System and security/ advanced system settings/under performance click settings/advanced tab and click change. Hopefully this works for you too and brings some stability. I have not had to reset my game to fix any stutters for a few days now.
