edit: the best fix here seems to be to make the daily something like 2 rounds (instead of matches) and the weekly 5 rounds, this makes it about as long as the crucible milestone but it can also be done in under an hour, while this may have some leavers, it's not as if people don't sometimes leave after a bad round1 now
edit2: someone thought about putting in a gambit quickplay list with 1 round per match which also counts for the milestone this way everyone can be happy. (right?)
edit3: changed the title to changing the milestone as that does seem to be the better idea now that the salt has been filtered out of my system by some heroic story missions.
edit4: I3utterKnife suggested having the 3rd round be sudden death with 35 motes to bank and half boss health.
edit5: i've got this many already might as well explain what i mean by the round wins in the last part of the original post: 2 rounds would have to be played for the daily and the match in which played completed, the weekly makes you play 5 rounds if you play real good that's 3 matches, but if you're playing that well you probably like it so there's no problem, for the slackers (like myself) you'd be done in 2 if you have 1 3 round in the 2, bringing the time down from 1hour+ to around 45 minutes, like crucible, or strikes if you're not doing em really quick.
edit6: might as well put in another as i keep getting something along the lines of "you don't like it so it should be done quick isn't a reason" this isn't the point, gambit on average takes longer than any of the other milestones to complete. i have put this in several replies and i'll put it here now with a link to the
mentioned nightfall (ascreenshot of it at least).http://prntscr.com/lv1x2y
this nightfall took 15 minutes and a bit, but i'm taking 15 as it was a bitch of a nightfall with it being as hard as they random i found could make it. this is with people i don't know and just found on here. 3 of these take less time than 3 gambit matches usually take (more fun too) as 3 gambit matches usually go from 50ish minutes to over an hour, depending on how lucky you got with the round wins. this should take 45 minutes or less to do since all the other milestones also take around that long to do
so i may be a bit biased here, but i absolutely HATE gambit.
thought it was fine in the beginning but now that i realize it's summon the boss and burn it in a second or lose the gamemode is way less fun. for the milestone i need 3 games of gambit, this can take upward of and hour if you get 3 games of 3 rounds, which happens nearly always for some reason. you also need to play 3 strikes for another milestone which takes anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes... i would like to be able to not have the gamemode i like to play the least in this game to be the one to take the most time for my milestone.
a match of gambit vs good invaders on both sides can take 30 minutes... this happens even in random matches, i can play 2 to 3 strikes in this timeframe, they should make the milestone count on rounds or make it 1 win wins the match.
yes i'm salty about it but going in with a team is basically the only way to get the milestone done within the hour except when you get lucky.

Okay so you want the milestone to be changed... but in a few weeks when you and your buddies who hate gambit are all max light you won't need the milestone anymore. So yeah it would shorten the time but some people enjoy gambit and dont mind the time.
-
You hate gambit because you don't have anyone to play with? you get farmed by ads? You get farmed by players? You don't have a good loadout with nice perks? You're just a casual player? To much teamwork? You hate losing? You can't work as team? Why? Why? I really like how bungie took a risk with this game mode I personal really like it it's interesting and a lot of FUN. I don't think your going to like the next dlc lol
-
I just want it to be 1 round games, winner wins, no catch up mechanics.

Bearbeitet von jokefacekillah3: 12/14/2018 7:44:32 PMI am not a big fan of Gambit as well, but i don't mind the milestone. I just bring in an auto rifle and win or lose, I work towards getting the breakneck pinnacle weapon. If it wasn't for that i wouldn't touch Gambit period. Edit: I am curious to see how they are going to base a whole season on gambit when season of the Drifter is released. Not gonna lie when i say I am not too excited for that one. But time will tell.

I say we change crucible 5 matches first...
so i may be a bit biased here, but i absolutely HATE gambit.
Nah. I think Gambit is one of the better modes they ever created. It's a great idea, that just needs a few tweaks. It's never going to accepted by everyone, because too many players become too competitive for their own good. As soon as you put a PvP aspect into a game, the whiners and Cruci-wimps come out in force to whine about it.
-
With so many broken things, solo queuing gambit is almost like playing competitive. I want to like Gambit but there are some flaws that still make it not fun.
-
Gambit is ass. It is not "needed" except briefly for power levelling after DLC. I'm 645 after a week and a half and only did the milestone LAST week. Just ignore it. Your life will be the better for it

Theres a shii load of issues with gambit. And slowly but surely I've noticed ppl go afk, or if we lose first round 2 out 4 are just messing around and not helping, instead take 10 to 15 motes and invade, do emotes and die. At first I liked gambit pe maybe the idea of it. But it just took days to weeks tops to notice all the issues. From invading to maps being big enough to easily have ppl with queenbreaker to one shotting you, to being hit all of a sudden by every ad, every blocker when someone invades. It's like the map itself turns on you for being cautions lol.

Gambit is just a dumpster fire. The sooner it goes away, the better. There is nothing they can do to "fix it" it will always be a dumpster fire. They could make changes so it's a smaller dumpster, but it's still trash.

I think the milestones are fine, it's the gameplay that needs work. The biggest things I would like to see changed: 1. No catch up mechanics. Let it just be a straight up fight. If your getting slaughtered, it will be over quicker. If your winning, good job on slaying that round. And the 2nd one, which I think will never happen cause of quest and titles and such, 2. Two RANDOM spawn invades per round. You could be carrying 15 motes and going to bank and you're random spawned to the other side. You could suck at invading and get spawned to invade. You could be a slayer and not be spawned at all. There seems to be too much invading on both sides. The invading inconsistency is what ruins this mode the most for me. Again, number 2 will never happen, but I hope bungie tones it down. I'd be happy with an invader every 25 motes on the score, so 3 per round.

Can we just delete gambit?
-
It’s not as a as the crucible milestone! Now even throwing games they still last 10 mins a time plus long match making makes it a very long hour plus per character! Fortunately mayhem this week it should stay for Thais don’t like pvp

Don't like it, then don't play it. TBH reading some of these suggestions just confirms why I am against developers listening to players rather than sticking to their original vision. Going by some of the posts most of the players posting just want a button to push for the win without actually entering the competition. Put some of these suggestions in place and within 5 minutes there would be posts complaining that its too boring, that everyone else's weapons but mine are too op, etc. Don't have enough time to play it, play a SP game, problem solved. There is enough variety in D2 so that you can do what you enjoy to level up as long as you don't want to cap in a day so play what you like avoid what you don't, cant suck it up to do what you don't enjoy, boo hoo. No need to change the format as drastically as some of these lame posters are suggesting.
-
This would be just as toxic as the Gambit pinnacle quest; they encourage griefing.
-
Gambit milestone is fine as it is.
so i may be a bit biased here, but i absolutely HATE gambit.
Then don't play it. Problem solved.

Gambit is super fun though... It may have something to do with me having Queenbreaker, but I would just say it's a perfect mode regardless.

How long does it takes to complete this weeks powerful gambit bounty?

Bearbeitet von TotalDramaGamer: 12/14/2018 9:42:36 PMI think Gambit matches are fine, personally. However, I do understand not wanting to do all three rounds. Much like how I hate games like Countdown and Breakthrough that can literally last 40 minutes a match if given the right circumstances. For Gambit, I wouldn't be opposed to the third round (the tie breaker) being a sort of 'sudden death' round. Both teams spawn in a single map and fight to the death. Adds spawn aggressively as well. No Primeval, but there are a lot of high tier adds + taken. Teams can revive each other, but every revive takes longer and longer to do (add three seconds to the timer per revive). Also, since this is the beginning of a 'round'... by default, no one would start out with heavy. (You could still have supers though.) Last team with a man standing wins. This would skip the mote part of Gambit (the long bit) and make the rounds a bit hectic, but shorter and a bit more PvP slanted. This also puts the teams on evenish terms with each other.

It’s fine the way it is

Why the fvck would you want to change it to where people only had to play x amount of rounds instead of full bo3 games? Sure, let's all try our best in round 1. If we win, we afk the last two to get 3 rounds done in one game, then fully afk the second game like all the f@ggots do getting breakneck for a quick 2 game milestone completion. Kill yourself and your ghost for this shit suggestion.

Change from match to bank the mote

I like edit 4.
