Really hoped these would be something really interesting but just seem really quite lack lustre and just another method of giving us old loot pretending to be new.
To grind these out and effectively only receive one additional perk option, no black armory mod on the item or even shader, just doesn’t seem worth the effort and feels like it was a cut and paste job where effectively the perk pool was just updated to be like D1 weapon drops providing two options.
Also it’s pretty bad that these don’t count towards the forged frames weekly milestone. Considering the grind to get ballistics logs and then the ‘powerful’ weapon frame unlocked and then run the forge, twice, seems a bit overly much. By all means increase the number of frames to 3 but include augmented frames as part of it.

The are only so many things that Bungie can to so a rifle before your mind stops accepting as a credible weapon. I'd rather have gear that PLAYS different, than a bunch of wepaons that look different, but all play the same. Black Armory basically gives you three new sources of weapons: Forge Saboteur weapons that drop in the Open world: These are basically Year 1 weapons that drop with random perks. Which gives new life to a whole series of weapons that were in the game, but were irrelevant because of fixed perk combinations. I've already had a Suros SR drop that I plan on infusing up, as soon as I can spare the cores. The Augmented Forge weapon: These are basically Year 2 weapons that roll with additional perks and a wider variety of perk combinations. All these weapons require is a very simple one-phase bounty...and then completion of a forge run Then "Radiant Frame" weapons which are the Forge weapons. Bungie isn't talking, but I think these a new class of weapon that are just below "curated rolls". I think these weapons roll from short list of the best weapon perks in the game, so you have a high likelihood of getting a superior weapon. So naturally, they're going to make you work to get them. Especially since they drop as a powerful drop. Speak for yourself. If it weren't for having to go thorugh all the Milestones to make sure that I can level up....I'd be grinding my ass off in the Forge trying to see what bad-ass weapons I could get. I've already gotten The Ringing Nail (the AR) to drop with High-Impact Reserves and Dragonfly. Its going to be a real dogfight when I get Breakneck to see which AR gets the top spot...and that's not even counting the Tigerspite that dropped yesterday with Triple Tap and Kill Clip.

I don't get it, I've seen so many people asking for year one weapons to come back with year two rolls and masterwork. They've done that and now that's not good either. Haha mental.

Bearbeitet von CannyJack: 12/11/2018 2:08:14 PMAfter my first one - a retold tale with a roll I don't remember - I haven't done any others. Better to run forges with nothing and hope for a forge drop - you can at least sometimes get a shader or schematic off them. I will do them if they're required for an Ada bounty, since that helps collect the armor. Otherwise, they're a waste of time.

There is a hand cannon that can roll Kill clip & rampage at the same time.

Yep they are disappointing af. I made a post about it too.

And the fun thing is. They sometimes dont even get an extra perk. I got the gambit SMG with under pressure and zen moment from it. No extra trait.

Exactly, these augmented frames are just clogging up Ada’s limited inventory screen which would better be filled with actually useful weapon frames like the rehashed weapons like baligant. My first and last augmented frame gave me a trackless waste..
