Alright so I'm sure my Destiny 1 veterans all know about the most important and legendary lines of dialogue ever spoken in a video game
Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
Truly a gripping story, but I have a few questions about what exactly happened after their strike, the list is as follows
1. Why would we immediately target one of the most important and we'll protected Cabal soldiers in their army? This happens before we kill the heart of the black garden and up to the point our real biggest achievement was killing an Archon. It seems like a bad idea to go for the head of the siege dancers like three days after we started a war with them
2. Did we ever break their grip on Freehold? Freehold is the name of that broken down city on mars, and from what I see the Cabal aren't the only ones "holding it". The Vex are also causing a ruckus all over that scrap heap and it's not like the Cabal exactly pulled their forces out of Freehold
3. Why the hell do we want Freehold in the first place? Humanity is at the brink of extinction and we barley have enough resources to fully take care of one city! What the hell were we gonna do? Build freehold from the ground up?! If the answer is so we can reclaim golden age technology well news flash we could have done that no sweat with or without Cabal interference! We're Guardians, the only two things we're good at is GUARDING and looting!
Well that was fun, hope you have a lovely day

Alak-Hul, the Darkblade: *dies* Eris Morn: *moans yeeesssss under her breath* Guardian: *visible discomfort*

How about the fallen that will continue to claw at the walls of our city unless we strike them down. Beneath the ruins of the cosmodrome in the shadow of an old colony ship we've located the house of devil's lair and the high the servitor feeding them their strength. We must destroy this machine god and send their souls screaming back to hell.

Funny story for you: remember that Centurion Oryx took right after you landed on the Dreadnaught? Then the Centurion and that Taken Ogre tried to stop you from killing the King? Heh. Didn't work. So the Centurion's bond-brothers are pretty angry they lost their commander. They're leading a team to blow the Dreadnaught's core. The core goes, and most of the system goes with it. You're gonna make sure that doesn't happen.

Can I mention the staggering irony that the Cabal have a grip on freehold.

You dare question the sacred texts?
-
The cabal don’t even have a word for retreat. The call it advancing, but in reverse.

Firstly: 1,2,2 good job dude. 😆 Secondly and more seriously: I think the point of starting the war and then punching through the commanders is a tactic to make the war easier. One of our first feats in the war was killing the blind legion’s Primus Sha’aull. Obviously our push on the seige dancers, dust giants and the sand eaters then follow, slowly taking out their command. Get rid of the big guys, then take out those left to fill positions before they even get a chance. Ice reapers we only go after cause they threatened Rasputin, and the Skyburners didn’t get involved completely until the Taken War.

GIVE US THE PRIMUS OR WE BLOW THE SHIP

It’s to keep the guardians busy.
-
Idk, “Heavy Indeeding” and various other destiny memes of zavala are also funny
-
I formally petition this memes rebirth in d2 to be Taekos introduction in the shrieker strike.
-
1) why would you not go straight for the leader? 2) cabal definitely lose grip in the freehold area, Vex flood in a bit more and the fallen wolves even tried their chances 3) Clovis bray facility was in Freehold so it would be nice to have that back

Asking the hard questions
-
Three days? We've been in a war with the Cabal since Ikora was a young Guardian.
-
Did you know that Some Hive strain against the will of Oryx. Alak-Hul, the Darkblade, is one such. Long ago, he fermented rebellion against Oryx and failed, and now is at the “Mercy” of the Hive
-
Not even Oryx can control an ogre.... unless it's TAKEN! (Just like everything else he controls)

Primey, Kell of Kaboom
We are so back! - alt
What about Taniks, who has no house? How about the fact that he kneels before no banner? And that he owes allegiance to no Kell? Lemme tell ya, he’s a murderer, and very good at what he does. -
I forget where they say it but in D1 it says somewhere that if the Cabal wanted to they could flatten Freehold in a day. Because they haven't it means they must want our technology too.
-
Why cant i mute you

Well if we kill their command (which as Zavala said that this team was comprised of the right people for the job) we have an easier battle for Mars and to the Black Garden, the Cabal would also reveal other potential leaders during this assassination attempt which would mean that if the mission is successful we kill a large portion of the Cabal command in one swoop leaving the rest of the Cabal to go on defense mode. As for Freehold, the battle for it was a lot easier after the Cabal command was severed from the legionaries stationed at Freehold. The whole reason we fight for Freehold is because 1) it has a Clovis Bray facility, 2) by securing this land mark we can set up a new guardian settlement meant for fighting the Vex and Cabal that we are at war at, and 3) we could collect the resources within the city left over from the Collapse.

<How about those Fallen in the Ishtar Sink on Venus? Story is they raided the Prison of Elders in the Reef. Got an Archon Priest. The Queen's bounty is high so we know it's powerful. We need to hunt this thing down before they fully restore its soul.>
