Within a few minutes of landing on a planet to do public events, the stuttering frame rate starts for me. Frame rate reported by the game stays consistently high, but it feels like it skips frames. Doesn't matter what settings I use in or out of game. It doesn't make the game unplayable, especially since public events aren't really a huge part of the game, but it's extremely annoying. Someone asked if AMD GPU users have the same issue. I do. I ran an R9 390 prior to picking up a Vega 64 about two months ago, and I've had the same stuttering frame rate issue on both cards. This holds true with and without FreeSync turned on. Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.8GHz Asus Strix B350-f Gaming G.skill FlareX 16GB 3200 (running at 3000, IMC doesn't like 3200) PowerColor Red Devil Vega 64 8GB, stock Samsung Evo 860 500GB SSD, both OS and D2 on SSD It's maddening to me that this issue persists, although I'm sure it's a matter of company resources. If the majority of players aren't up in arms about it, there's no reason for them to task people to fix it. Still, frustrating. I have been keeping an eye on my GPU usage and clock speeds in WattMan (not the overlay, just alt tabbing) and I've noticed that GPU usage seems to dip when this starts to happen, and GPU clock speed with it. It's not tied to temperature, however, or memory usage. My card has 8GB of VRAM, and the issue starts before the game's even using up 3GB of VRAM. EDIT: I've found that running maxed settings masks the problem somewhat. I suspect that motion blur minimizes the impact of the stutter by blurring out some of it. I ordinarily disable it. The stutter is still there, and still annoying, but it's not quite as obvious.
