Disclaimer: Okay ya, strikes are PvE. But lets be real, who the hell wants to play that boring-ass easy crap anyway? FFS, I could literally just dance emote in the middle of the fight and we'll still win.
Can't find a direct explanation as to why this isn't the case. I only really see bloggers pseudo-explaining why this might be the case, but say like its dogma or smthn. I paraphrase below...
- "challenging content is impossible for pubs"
- "it would lead to toxicity"
- "by making players go through the redundancies/obstacles of going through other mediums before actually playing the game, it will filter in the players who are good mannered and tolerant."
Stupidness if this is actually the case. If this is the safespace, PC BS reason then I got news for you Bungie... How players connected should have been the focus of the Destiny experience, not level design. Thinking about the ritual in how we connect would have shaped how you designed your dungeons n shit. But that's besides the point.
So ya, is there an OFFICIAL statement as to why there is no true PvE matchmaking for Destiny 2?

Deej said it was part of the game to make teams and friends or some shit. This was probably a couple years ago.
