Bearbeitet von SirBigWater: 9/28/2018 6:59:47 AMI used to grab the OXM magazines for a long time, the last one I got was around the time they stopped doing the demo discs. It was the magazine that was exclusively dedicated to Halo. But the one I want to talk about came out some time before Halo 3 came out. It was covering stuff about the trailers and what they would like to see come into play with Halo 3, there was an image of a Motorcycle with a sidecar, they wanted a useable Gravity hammer, a jet pack, and more. I then also remember all of the TV ads that played. Also grabbing the 360 Halo (the blue one) faceplate and the getting my Halo 3 legendary edition on launch was pretty good memories as well. That game was great. I never knew that they replaced the voice actors for Truth and Miranda until 2016, when I bought and Xbox one and MCC. I only had a French version of Halo 3, and I never played the campaign when Halo 3 was offered free on 360 a while ago. So that wasn't great. The Halo 3 legendary edition also came with many good special feature on disc 2, I have watched the Developer commentary of 1 and 2 many times, along with so many other things like the This Spartan Life episode with Frank O'Connor on high ground, and the first RvB episode remade in Halo 3.

Eleven years ago, my calendar had a big old 3 in the middle of the bottom row (UK launch was 26th, a Wednesday), in a three-quarters O, as per the branding. I was reminded of it today because I just made a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. Yeah. It was unforgettable. I was still at school, had History before the afternoon was a free double period. I walked into town and bought H3 from Game. Played up to The Ark with the exceptional Lord Snakie (anyone remember him? No? Kids these days...). Oh, what a night. <3

Oh god, Halo 3. There's so many memories- the custom games: fat kid, the octagon, jenga, mexican chase, halo on halo, so so many more; the multiplayer: big team, grifball, lone wolf; the campaign: beating the game alone and helping friends, collecting skulls (i miss doing this in the newer Halos), beating that stupid challenge with the ghosts on the final mission to unlock the recon armor. I still haven't gotten over Johnson's death. If he became Master Chief's AI partner in the newest Halo, in all his glory, I might just consider buying it. That guy was the best. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite memory, there's just so many things that I did that I still laugh about even today. The glitches were awesome, the easter eggs were plentiful and cool, meeting and talking to new people because private parties weren't a thing yet! The custom games where a bunch of randoms that your one friend knew and friends of friends joining to play Michael Jackson on mansion or cops and crooks on some prison map. No need for LFG's or whatever its called. Halo 3 was so many things for me, it being the first game I played online ever. I remember the first custom game I played, back in I think it was 2008, or really late 2007 I can't remember. It was some D-Day infection game on Last Resort, all there was to it was a bunch of crap thrown all over the map, and you pretty much had to hide while the occasional fusion coil fell from the sky. I was so confused by it, I never played a custom map before. I was told it was a Forge map, but what the heck was a Forge map? I noticed Forge right on the main menu soon after and I felt so silly. That menu music though! My ears still love to hear that- as my uncle would call it- monk music. I still automatically hum along with it whenever I hear it today.
