I once was excuted for Iron Banner to come out, jokingly calling it the Iron Banana. Now it's lost it's flare. Iron banner has always been something more than just control, and now its a joke. Locking points after a power play?? Seriously?? On the attacking edge of a power play, there is nothing you can do to fight back and bring the score back up to steady counting. Powerplays are not meant to be a "ha ha you can't touch me!", it's meant to be a boost to either gain leverage or catch up to the opponent. Locking the points had pretty much put players in a deathtrap that gives the enemy team far more advantage than necessary. Iron Banner and Crucible have seemingly become a chore and that had made the game mode no fun. PvE has become more fun than dogging on players that are running the meta with offhand Planitary weapons. Now your forced into using specific weapon types such as hand cannons and shotguns when theres a lot of players who can't finish qurst steps because they can't use those weapons. Your forcing playets with a higher skill level to be little babies and round corners with shotguns to unsuspecting players. Shotguns should have never left the heavy slot. Don't get me wrong Forsaken has brought D2 back, but for how long?? When will everybody get tired of having to conform to meta because of questlines or simply to counter the other players using the meta? This Is Destiny 2 not Destiny 1, treat it as its own game. The grind is cool, but shoving crucible down our throats and making something fun a chore, takes the fun out of the game.
Don't fix something that's not broken.

Iron Banner in season 4 is absolutely miserable to play as a solo player. Most of the matches that I played in where completely lopsided. I continually was dropped into losing games where the other team already had power plays making it almost impossible to get a win. It shouldn't take 30 games to get 10 wins. Bungie needs to fix the matchmaking immediately. I love playing Iron Banner but this is ridiculous.
-
Translation: I want the skill gap decreased in crucible like it was so I can camp and teamshoot with my graviton and feel like I am a good player.
-
Idk, having a mechanic where you can lock three zones keeps people moving over the map instead of capturing two zones and spawn camping the third zone.
-
Its -blam!-ing horrible to be fair. I e won a poor 7 matches from 23. It's impossible for solo players.
-
So don't play it then, duhhh

I disagree with you 100%. Iron Banner used to be solely control, it’s preferred that way by most. Having shot guns in the special is right where they belong right along with snipers. I and the great majority of players are tired of having to try to get heavy to use those weapons. As for your complaint about locking zones, it’s great the way it is. You and your pile of blueberries have to push to gain control. Ya can’t just camp out and roast shanks by the fire and be cozy. Get out there and push, Iron Banner is meant to be rough. As for your complaint about corners with shotties and hand cannons, you need to adjust your play style, in a big way. I have had zero problems with that. Know why? Because I check my damn radar and I don’t go running around blindly like it’s clash! It’s been mostly scouts, pulse and autos if you’d paid any attention. All in all, if it’s too much for you, don’t play it! I don’t do trials much cause I don’t enjoy it. But I don’t try break it apart because I didn’t do well at the time. Quit trying to nerf everything that comes along. The true majority of this populous is sick. . . To death. . . Of nerf loving no playing whiners. DONT BE THAT GUY!!

This is the best iron banner has been since the release of d2......the locking zones is a nice touch on bungies part.....you must be one of those guys that gets tons of kills in supremacy but fails to pick up the drop to actually count it as a score (ie ignores the entire objective but jumps up and down and the end of the match for scoring high on kills “which is completely irrelevant” even though your team gets annihilated).....there’s objectives for a reason! Doesn’t matter how many kills you get if you don’t focus on the objective guess what.....you’re going to lose.....not that hard to understand.

The locking of flags mechanic is one of the best additions to iron banner yet. It rewards the team doing it with triple the points but also helps the losing team as they get to capture flags. I won a game last night because the opposing team decided to do a power play and right when it finished, my whole team got all the flags and we had our own power play barely getting us enough to win the game. It’s a high risk high reward mechanic but can easily backfire if you’re too busy looking for kills rather than defending your flags. Also if you’re still getting constantly killed by shotguns this late into Forsaken, you need to change how you play.
-
It's 15 seconds then the leading team losing all their advantages. You gotta be -blam!-ing kidding me if you're really complaining about this.
-
Yuck, a text wall. It reeks of entitlement.
-
Lol just get gud
-
I think it’s pretty fun.
-
You cry too much in all honesty. The only part of your rant that actually makes sense is when your team is capping a flag that is 96% complete and you get locked out. That sucks big time. I’m all in for lockouts and power plays however you shouldn’t get locked out from capping a point if you’re over 50%.
-
Has not been fun since d1.
-
The only complaint I have about IB is the rewards. Why an endgame activity doesn’t drop current light level gear, with a chance of it being higher is mind boggling. Clan mates are finishing bounties and getting a single drop 1-3 LL’s than they are. This is the reward for 3-4 days of solid grinding? Almost any milestone can be completed in a hour or two and yield the same results.

I haven't had a chance to play this iron banner, I'm hearing LL advantage is prominent? I'm only 520 light so I'm kinda glad I'd saved up 2000+ tokens from previous banners. Also hearing tokens aren't dropping for some people which sucks! But I've handed in enough to get a full set of armor for my warlock and all the weapons with decent perk rolls so I'm happy. I'll try anf get some games in on the last day I think so hopefully I won't get destroyed 😂

Cap zones gaurdian.
-
Someone solo queued and got stomped..... Here's a tissue.
-
I didn't know I could be executed because IB released. That may explain why people never stop b****ing about it every time it comes out.
-
You were executed? I’m sorry to hear that.
-
when was it fun in destiny 2? once i got the full season 4 iron banner gear for hunter i never went back into it
-
I went in last night with my Hunter at PL 501 Lone Wolfing it and wasn't on a winning team and I still enjoyed myself. It was fun and intense! But that's me though.
-
That lockout mechanic is silly. Enemy has 2 zones, we start capping one back, almost capped maybe 90% and the enemy caps the third instantly cancelling our almost capped zone and locking all zones out as the enemies even though 1 was 90% our zone.
-
dont get locked out? when your team go for a...go for c and hold them for a bit..your team will get B and then you can all push on C. Will not work everytime but its not what they expect so just do something a lil bit unusual and most of the time the fact your doing it will make them think your a much better PVP player than you are....works for me lol Yes I did all the bounties in one day, yes I got all the gear and the guns, yes im shit at PVP usually, ye sI was solo 90% of the time...Yes I enjoyed it
-
When you first enter the match everyone is on an equal level
-
Locking points doesnt automatically win the game. Ive played quite a few matches where the team that locked down the power play more than the other team still lost. Its all about capitalizing on it, you fight against the shotgun by outmanuvering them its not to hard. Iron banner isnt bad in fact its more enjoyable.
