To Bungie's Crucible team.
I survived the teamshot extravaganza in season 1 and 2 hoping things would get better. After the go fast update things started to shine. You could actually do stuff without a team. Just before Forsaken launched, one could take out teams single handedly with smart plays (and without shotgun). Queing times for matches were blazing fast and laggy players were nowhere to be found. It was the best of times. I enjoyed it so much that I gathered over 110 000 kills in the crucible - which also means I have some idea what I'm talking about.
Current state of the crucible is horrible. It's a skating shotgun ape fest with shoulder charges that track in the opposite direction or even straight up. When you top that with couple of nearly immortal supers and light level advantages, it makes skill even less relevant. There isn't much left to play and enjoy anymore. It's just potatoes running around aimlessly with shotties. Matchmaking takes ages and laggy opponents are teleporting all over the place.
I've had many gg's in the past, but in it's current state - crucible is just a bad joke. Please fix it.
EDIT: Shotguns aren't the problem. If super damage resistance and shoulder charge tracking are toned down, shooting down shotgun thralls is fine.
Also who keeps adding wierd stuff to hunter hand armors?

super armor is pretty ridiculous, ngl.

As somewhat decent PvP player i agree, shotguns should not 1hit in bodies making slug shotties pointless and skating should not exist.
-
Learn how to counter it

I don’t play competitive so I don’t know what sort of sweatfest it is. However as for normal PvP I’ve jumped in with a pretty broad range of weapons and felt like I could do well and have fun, I’m not an amazing PvP player and obviously some guns are stronger than others but I feel you can hold your own with pretty much anything in PvP at the moment.

-Sincerely, Someone with no situational awareness
you forgot to add this part
You can either get mad and quit. Or you can fire up YouTube....go to Crucible Radio...and listen to the podcast from about two years ago that talks about "advancing into cover"...and "negative space". All the things you're complaining about are the result of trying to play this game's PVP without a firm grasp of how to create space between yourself and another player....and how to SLOW down someone's rate of closure if they charge you. You need to learn how to BACKPEDAL while firing....and you need to learn how to back up....or even get up into the air as a means of slowing down how fast someone can push you. This gives you time to react....and it also buys you the time your weapon needs to register a kill if you aren't armed with a shotgun. Add to this the ability to manage the vertical should someone decide to rush you in the air....or by sliding.... ...and you'll find dealing with shotguns very manageable...and a fun challenge. If you don't learn these skills? Yes, you're going to find shotgun play in this game to be pretty oppressive.
-
Ill give you a absolut YES to the thing with connection.. Its garbage sometimes. Enemies needs 6 shots instead of 3. But, about the shottie and shoulder charge... you can avoid it. Easy. I dont want to explain how because you know it allrdy. Maybe you dont like your playstyle anymore then - but thats even a different problem.
-
Disagree completely. I feel as though shotguns are super easy to counter and i really dont have a problem with them. I may be a bit biased because i now have my sniper back. I would rather die to a shotgun than have my sniper taken away again.
-
Shotgun rushers, are at times, a bit annoying, yes. But it's called adapting. If you see someone rushing at you with a flashlight, start laying into them or back off and get a better position. If you see a blink on your radar, 9.9/10, someone is around the corner with a shotgun... adapt, don't push it. If you can't learn to navigate the field then don't play.
It's a skating shotgun ape fest with shoulder charges that track in the opposite direction or even straight up.
So they're not team shooting.

"Hi guys, i'm here to complain the game should go back to primary only so I can complain about there not being enough variety and abilities being useless, in hopes of being able to complain again about the abilities being overpowered and there being a lack of gunplay."
-
The current state of PvP is good. It’s the best I’ve seen in 2yrs for Destiny mostly because everything has a counter now. If you’re getting whipped around by shotguns, you should try throwing some bait around in reel them in. It’s pretty hilarious when they realized they done messed up after turning them into a blue ball.

Bearbeitet von o K1D FL4SH o: 9/20/2018 6:43:58 PMTo me it's all about your loadout, map awareness, and positioning. Depending on your setup, that will determine whether or not you are ready if you get pushed by a shotgun. If you have a pulse and an sniper, then you can't get mad if you lose in close range. Or if you're in a tight hallway, that's their kingdom. Stick to the outsides of the map or long hallways if you want to avoid shotguns

I agree with the whole skate ape shoulder charge thing, but besides from that, id say crucible is pretty fun. Hunters are also a pain in the ass with their panic supers. Make titan skating bannable, nerf insurmountable skullfort and make the blade barrage require aim, to make it a skill rewarding super, but punishing.

The gameplay changed from -> tactical awareness and gunplay (+aiming) to -> reading the radar and knowing choke points (+movement) I also preferred the state it was right before the new ammo and weapon slots came in place. You could do so much things to win a match. I feel like now it's all about having shotty or telesto in place. Less fun. PS: Any guys with the "git gud" attitude - feel free to challenge me 1v1 and try out who has to git gud :)

It is now half skill and half luck. I only play weekly matches that drop high gear. I have moved on for a lot of the reasons stated. Gambit, lot more fun to me.
-
Honestly D2's year 1 weapon system was the best thing that happened to Destiny (as far as crucible goes). Wish they hadn't gone back.
-
Use a sidearm or a fusion w/ backup plan and your problem will be solved. Try shock and awe.
-
I agree totally. I was playing crucible near the end of D2 year 1 and I realized that I was playing not to get a drop or because of some mission but because I enjoyed it. All of D1 I played because I wanted the high level gear or because it was a mission or quest, never because I enjoyed it. I thought fantastic, they finally got it right! A game everyone can enjoy, not just the top 10%. Unfortunately you can't please everyone and people who want the good old days of D1 complained loud enough that Bungie listened. So we now get what we get until people complain again that they want it changed. Then they'll change it again and begin the cycle again. Hopefully the next change is somewhat playable.

I’ve played against a titan today and he freakin shoulder charged my whole -blam!-ing team. A ohk shoulder charge shouldn’t be a thing...
-
BEST THING I HAVE READ ALL DAY!!!! couldn't have said it better myself.
-
No matter if I manage to get the broadsword with all of the bugs, it won’t matter because I’ll just get shotgunned lol
-
Just cuz you have 110,000 or what ever kills doesn't mean you know what your talking about .
