Grinding - Farming in Destiny 2
Definition of Grinding aka Farming: In video gaming, grinding is performing repetitive tasks for gameplay advantage. Many video games use different tactics to implement, or reduce the amount of grinding in play. The general use of grinding is for "experience points", or to improve the characters level (Rewards). However, the behavior is sometimes referred to as pushing the bar, farming or catassing.
So... Grinding in Destiny 2?
I would grind for stuff that actually make sense. I would grind for weapons if I know it is going to take some time BUT I will eventually HAVE it. I would grind for some nice gear if it is good and awesome.
But... Still get 4x Same Helmet from Zavala (Nightfall Engram) 3x light 379 1x 372. Still get too much duplicates. Grinding for a *&$@# weapon over and over and over again with 0% drop rate. Grinding the Escalation Protocol to get the weapon I want, over and over and over and over again. Grinding for a Catalyst for the weapon I wnat? Never got 'em. Grinding for a piece of gear? Never got 'em.
Turning in Engrams? All crap and duplicates. Grinding for shaders? Nope. Grinding for a nice Sparrow? Well... Meh. Grind.... Grind... For what?
If Forsaken isn't going to fix this mess. I won't play Destiny 2 ever. This is not a goodbye message, this is just another frustrated Guardian.

Last week on pc Fromm all my engrams I got a chest piece and a heavy weapon. EVERY SINGLE ONE. That’s why I do the raids. So I can hits 385 faster that way.

Without random rolls you were always grinding for the same old gear, has been since D2 launched and with each DLC. By now everyone knows this and either accepts it and plays the game because they enjoy it, or moves onto a different game. Forsaken is going to bring back random rolls and hopefully bring back that grind to get the perfectly rolled weapon or armor piece that you want. However I will say the "grind" for catalysts, nightfall specifics and EP weapons and the RNG associated with it seems obnoxious. Like some would get all three weapons in their first 10 EP runs, while others have run it well over a hundred times and have seen no weapons. Running hundreds of strikes just to get a single catalyst? Forget it. Nightfall specifics are the same as the EP weapons, RNG really favors some and really sticks it to others.

4 AntwortenBungie decided that 'grinding' in D2 meant extending meager content. Bungie made EP for "endgame" content but there is little reason for "endgame" players to participate because there is nothing really worth 'grinding' for. Bungie is so worried about "balance" that they removed the 'fun factor'. If the game is not 'fun' and there is no loot to strive for why bother playing?
