Let me say this. I played both D1 and D2 quite alot both crucible and pvp, Yet D1's crucible is leagues better not because its 6's. In D1 you could use most weapons with a decent roll and do quite well seeing as you could go off by yourself and know you had a chance. While in D2 if you arent using the meta aka Graviton/Crimson where they 2-3 shot across the map your at an instant disadvantage, and god forbid your not with your team or else your instantly dead. In order to fix this first of all bungie should actually test weapons not just say eh well just buff the shit out of this weapon. Secondly increase ttk and buff the weapon classes respectively.
