Seeing as its this easy to kill Cayde, anyone is vulnerable right? So why havent they shot at our ghosts all this time and then shot us and be done with it?
-
Um they try.. Ever notice those bullets they send your way?
-
Definitely some inconsistencies. If your ghost is in your backpack he would blow up when you blow up. If he's intangible he shouldn't be able to be shot ever unless he becomes tangible to revive you. If that's so we are back to it being fairly easy to perma-kill guardians. It also makes the crucible seem alot more hazardous.
-
That's like asking, "Why don't the villains just kill the hero, when they have the chance...instead of just monologuing?". Like a certain space turtle...said to be named Gary.
-
Because ghosts are good at disappearing really quickly. Only dumb ghosts get shot.
-
Extremely simple. Player-guardians ghosts hide for the majority of the time, and when they are out to revive us, you can easily discern the energy-shield protecting their core.
-
Remember, Caydes ghost doesn’t know how to keep out of sight very well.
-
I like to think ghost is just kind of a dodging god, and dodges the shots like deej dodges these forums

Lore wise, our Ghost is hiding in our backpack and usually just comes out when it's safe or something needs hacked/looked at. Game-wise, they are only out so our allies can revive us and wouldn't be outside us otherwise.
-
We hide our ghost in battle, we don’t have it on show
-
Our ghost hides while we’re in battle and only comes out when we’re either dead or injured

Because reasons.

The math teacher said not to ask questions like that.

<Because it'd break the game. Though that gives me an idea for the Darkness and ITs forces...>

Surprisingly, there is barely any intelligent life in the cosmos.

Report from the Cabal
This capability is provided by a small autonomous drone unit called a Dead Person [trans. unclear]. The Dead Person conceals itself during combat. It is not a viable target for direct fire.
Ghosts remain hidden most of the time, especially during combat. Cayde's ghost was not hidden and was close enough to Uldren to be a viable target. Felwinter killed a warlord in a similar fashion, he waited for the ghost to become visible and shot both warlord and ghost.
Citan’s Ghost sparked into view from above, bringing its eye to bear on its fallen charge. The Warlord emerged from a radiant column, a frenzied shout at his lips. Felwinter’s shotgun cracked like thunder—once for the Warlord, and again for his Ghost.
Exactly what I said. In strike when you die the ads shoot your ghost all the time. It's illogical for a guardian to die that way.
-
Because he lives in our backpack
