Golly. Let me preface this by saying I am very pleased that ranked is a system that was added to the game, and I think, on paper, this was a great step forward for PVP players. However, there are some [i]glaring[/i] issues with the mode, and I will detail them here: 1. No level requirement for entry. It's stupid that people that can't even equip purples are allowed to play ranked, and it gives the team that has them a noticeable disadvantage- they are not able to use the majority of "meta" gear. This is a really easy fix, just make the barrier to entry of ranked level 20. 2. No voice chat that people will ever use. Speaking as a ps4 player, I can say that I have seen exactly 0 people in the public voice chat. This is a huge problem, due to issues 3 and 4, and encourages "lonewolf" styles of play in a heavily team-focused game mode. This provides an even more unfair advantage to larger fireteams, which doesn't feel very fun. I think an easy fix to this would be "opt-out" voice chat, where everybody is put automatically into the team chat, and can choose if they want to leave it. 3. NO MINIMAP?!?!?!?! Are you -blam!-ing serious bungie? You want us to play COUNTDOWN with NO -blam!-ING MINIMAP? Jesus christ this is garbage. My problem isn't even that you can't tell where the enemies are, I'm ok with that. No, the problem is that you can't tell where any resident blueberries are, because they don't -blam!-ing talk to you, and you can't see them unless you're looking at where they are. This means that the person in the front of a pack can't tell if anyone is following them, which causes STUPID levels of dischord in a team of blueberries, and can lead to easy picks due to stupid teammates. THIS IS AN EASY -blam!-ING FIX! JUST LET US HAVE A MINIMAP THAT ONLY SHOWS ALLIES, HOLY SHIT BUNGIE, ARE YOU STUPID?! 4. This is more of a personal issue because I'm bad at countdown, but it's really really dumb that it can be either gamemode. Make some sort of consistency, whether that be alternating between modes, or 2 on 2 off, or just seperate menus, or just, you know, removing countdown? Christ bungie, this ranked system was a good idea but what the -blam!- did you think was gonna happen when you let these 4 issues slip past? This mode is nigh-unplayable unless you have a fireteam, which pisses me off (as I'm sure you can see. Please fix or reply or preferably both?)
