So, out of curiosity, what is the difference in damage output between Way of the Sharpshooter landing 3 Consecutive GG Crits vs 1 Crit with Celestial Nighthawk on a boss?
Assuming no additional variables are at play.

So lets take for example a video I literally just watched before this post. Now before proceeding this is a video and I don't know the gear being used so the different shot types could be from different light levels so take it with a grain of salt. Now onto the numbers I got. Also these numbers are from the Wretched Captain from the Earth patrol. When MTashed fired the triple shot in his video about the Celestial Nighthawk the numbers that were shown were 2516, 3079, 3643 which equals a total of 9238. On top of this the super will drop 6 orbs so long as you hit all 3 shots(not very hard). Very good team based super as well as high damage. When MTashed fired the Nighthawk shot at the same enemy, the total damage equaled 13182 on a critical shot and it created 2 orbs of light. High Damage but a huge downside to using it. More of a greedy item. Some simple quick mafs will show the difference in damage to be 3944 and a total of 4 orbs of light. Now of course certain modifiers will increase the damage and the higher you go the bigger the difference but with no variables the Celestial is a wasted exotic slot. Using it will hinder your entire fireteam by taking away orbs of light that could have been produced. Sadly I must say it is far from worth it and is a hard pass until they fix the exotic armors

It depends. Usually when you want most DPS is on the raid, so take that 25% damage boost for the class item, then take into consideration that an Orpheus rig Hunter has way more team value as it can generate enough orbs for multiple supers on one damage phase (up to 3 on calus, and even more on argos), thus making it more valuable than having 2 golden guns without nighthawk, plus, the damage boost for all the team with tether works to compensate for that damage loss for not using golden gun

Hitting Calus or the dogs will only take time away from damage that a 3 shot golden gun could be doing, and as I stated the difference is 3944 and 4 missed orbs when using Nighthawk(clearly different when fighting Calus but missed orbs takes away from team super damage). When talking sheer boss damage and orb generation 3 shot Golden Gun will always reign supreme for the hunters.

Ahh crap. I actually tested that but forgot to write it down. Let's see. If this math is right Celestial Nighthawk should do 1.6x more damage. But with numbers that high that translates to a lot of damage.
