The speed boost is decent, and the jumps are much better. Icarus dash didn't get a momentum tweak so it still kills momentum upon exiting, but that's fine. The heavy ammo reserves for PvE didn't pan out, I got one extra shot in my sniper. Good thing they're negligibly stronger, now. Overall disappointing, but I was sort of expecting a lot more...So that's my bad.
NOW
For the real opinion...I really want other people's thoughts on this. Does anyone else experience missing absolutely well placed melees and getting hit by an inconceivable melee lunge?
I don't think I've ever been killed by single melee strikes more than before this update. Before it was at least once a match. Now, it's almost every engagement. If I'm not team shot, I'm rushed by a titan, shot twice and punched.
Am I the only one who is missing melees outright? I have -blam!-ing Ophidian Aspects which means I get a negligible range boost to my melee and I'm experiencing this scenario more often than ever. Titans are warping into me and killing me with punches and I can't defend from it no matter how hard I try. If they get close, I can't blink up, I can't dodge, I can't dash behind a corner. They teleport into me and punch me. You blink into 3rd person. I can physically see when I'm above and behind a man, and the dude on the ground just punches me anyway. Keep in mind that I can't hit them with melees from where they're hitting me. It's not just me being shitty, I've tried to adjust my playstyle. I've watched the footage. I can't hit them, then they hit me. I die to missing a melee more often than I've ever thought possible. I play a handful of games and this is the only one where enemies teleport into you with a melee strike after magically avoiding yours.
RUMBLE
I played rumble and if I didn't die out of spawn, I would die from a man spawning in after I get a kill. Rumble is so much worse when your enemy can just run away from every engagement.
I actually won my first rumble match, then I couldn't even finish another player off the next few.
That's another thing. Does anybody else notice when you're shooting somebody that the first few shots are so -blam!-ing crispy that you're like a god you might as well be -blam!-ing blindfolded there's nothing they can do you just pinpointed their dome three times and suddenly...the fourth shot misses...and the fifth, and the sixth, and the seventh, and they get away? I'm not super good but it's like when their shields drop they stop taking damage.
How's your experience? I hope everybody else is enjoying the update. I know the guys playing against me were...>:[

I think pvp is better for the most part. I think that heavy timer need to be increased so that is not just a heavy spam fest. But when you get matches where people use normal guns its pretty fun. The fact that you can use more than 2 guns and do well is a nice change.

Bearbeitet von Varvo: 3/29/2018 1:41:12 AMHeavy spawns need to be adjusted. It’s no fun running around shot gunning everyone with unlimited heavy spawns. It boosts the stats, yes, but requires little skill and coordination. Respawn time needs to be adjusted. Nothing worse than winning a 1v3 or 1v2 just for guardian #1 to respawn in and kill you. Other than that, love the speed. Heavy ammo drop is the real killer right now.

What I believe to be the bulk of your complaint is absolutely 100%. Peer-to-peer hosting. There's a phenomenal post about it where they describe how this is the problem with everything wrong with this game as it pertains to The CrucibleC. I noticed that on one match you can win on the next match you can't even finish somebody off that is most likely because you were the host of the first match you may have had what could be described as an unnatural advantage against the rest of your enemies. And then you experience what it's like to be at the unnatural disadvantage to the host or just like you said people that might be in proximity of the host and it's worse because whatever parameters they choose if you don't fit those parameters to be the host there's a very likely chance that you're far away from the host. The melee fighting in this game is the epitome of what it's like to be at proximity host disadvantage. Dedicated servers would result in less Mutual kills( less 1v1 traded) like it would be the less trading involved if there was dedicated serversservers. Basically there's no real way to even balance fix gather data or even know what to do in the future because there's so many variables at play because of the hosting that we can't even tell an accurate time to kill people are dying behind walls. Not only because of inherentl delay that every multiplayer game has. But also compounded due to ttk (I'm not an advocate of reducing ttk ) . And then made unbearable due to peer-to-peer hosting.

..Devour won't proc against a shield..

It's been fun out of the gate, no issues except for 2 blatant hacks trolling the new update. I'm finding 0% change for me with Nightstalker. Matches move much faster, and from what I can see all of the math centered around CQ is spot on. Playmaking even vs supers is a rush !

Bearbeitet von GrundleBeans: 3/28/2018 5:52:11 PMI don't care about anything crucible, soooo none of that stuff bothers. I'm downloading the update right now, so I'll find out how PvE is. (Update) Movement feels better. More like D1. Jumps have a greater burst and go slightly higher/further. Weapons feel slightly more powerful and I had good reason to try out different ones. I wouldn’t be surprised if even the PvP meta changes as people try out different load outs.

But it’s crucible.

Yes melees are broken. They really need a fix
