I do not think the team fire meta will leave. Does anyone, really?
Wether D1 or D2, more people firing equals enemies dying quicker. Now that the habit has caught on I would believe it's gonna stick around for a long time.
What's the downside to sticking together? Getting Breaker'd by a rocket? Hardly happens, is easily neutralized by racking up kilsl as a team. Getting team wiped by a super? Yeah no in D2 energy weapons shred anyone out of their super before they know it.
I'm more than OK with being proven wrong, since I'm really sick of how D2 PvP plays out. Not even at its worst was D1 this monotonous and unfun.

It can’t leave the game. It’s baked into the design and it’s the ONLY way to win. Go play D1 and look at how many people there are playing D2 team shooting style and getting their asses handed to them because opponents have more ability to counter and you don’t die instantly from getting teamshot.
-
The problem is not exclusive to people who want to team shot, but rather having skilled players that are able to win in a 1v2 scenario. In D2 it’s just not possible, unless your enemies have 0 thumbs, but in D1 if you were skilled enough you could out play your opponents to beat out 2 or 3 others.

Well said. Should totally get rid of teamwork in team vs team pvp.

To be honest, I feel like Bungie is just pampering all the new Destiny players. I started playing D1 when Taken King launched, and until I got good I would have my butt handed to me in Crucible. There has to be a line drawn where Bungie says "Suck it up and lose a match for once in your lives."
-
Hopefully the new ability cooldowns allow for crowd control. That was the great equalizer from Destiny 1. I'd argue you were far more likely to lose a match if you huddled together all the time because of abilities. But this new power ammo thing....... I'm skeptical. I'm already sick of The Colony so I can only imagine the sheer ridiculousness if Bungie drops the ball with this patch.

The meta AR fireteam was intentional, but it's breaking down. Those same players have developed bad habits, lost 1v1 and 1v2 engagement skills, and can be two dimensional/predictable. Depends on the team. If you ever record matches, compare old with new. A lot of old fundamentals are ignored = fertile ground. When these players are left alone on a limb or as a pair they're easy prey. You can still break down 2s and 3s , it just takes more planning and ability to step on/off the aggression gas, etc. Different ways to open matches, setting tone and instantly fragmenting a team of 3 for example, can be highly effective. Make them play on your terms. Great news .....the end of month sandbox will give you even more opportunity to combat this sort. You're correct, it won't be going away, but you're about to be provided even more leverage. Happy hunting.

I like Cayde.

The only time I hate team shooting is when I go solo and I get stuck with 3 tards who constantly rush the other team, feeding them kills. Otherwise I quite enjoy picking them off one by one. There are two types of D2 players: The Sad Little Emo Kid: awww! No fair! That team is using teamwork and I have no friends, Mommy! Booby! The Emotionally Stable Adult: Well, that was facking dumb, why the Fack did I rush them?

Bearbeitet von KidSixXx: 3/21/2018 3:31:38 PMWhy should the team fire meta leave? Shouldn't teamwork and tactics be rewarded or are we going back to the old ways of shotgun rushing groups of zone cappers and super shredding teams waiting for heavy? There should be few, if any, downsides to sticking together in match modes where teamwork is one of the keys to success, IMO. If there is anything to groan about, it is the simple fact that coordinated fireteams will usually have the advantage in small team PvP and that means that clans running as a squad will have the statistical edge. Lone wolves trying to win team matches on their own are going to be ground into dust. Not everyone wants to be in a clan, nor should it be a requirement of enjoyment for the game.. 6v6 play was far more forgiving, so hopefully its introduction will balance things out for casual players.

Skeptical. You can't type.

If the team meta goes away and to many 1v2 or 1v3 engagements go to the solo player the forum will go crazy with people complaining that the games are unbalanced. I know this because the forums were already filled with balance complaints before. There's no winning here for Bungie.
