The state of Destiny 2....my opinion

So, this is my opinion only. I have been a hardcore Destiny fan since I got Destiny 1 right after release. I played it everyday, scheduled vacation days for DLC releases, learned how to play a first person shooter, and learned how to play crucible. But with this game I have been so disappointed. I have a list of things I miss about Destiny. 1. The grind/hunt for the perfect weapon roll. It took forever but I got my palindrome...she was a beast. 2. The hunt for the exotic weapons. The length we had to go to get them, the battles to achieve that all powerful weapon. I still never found a few from year 1. My favorites were the exotics swords. 3. The bounties....I know people think these were stupid, but, if I only had time to play a little bit. I could get a couple done and save the rest for another day. 4. The level up system. I was not a huge crucible player but, I knew when I went into crucible I was playing against someone that was the same level as me. A level 25 playing against a level 25. This over powered low level player is crap in Destiny 2. Completely ruined crucible and Iron Banner for me. 5. The miscellaneous kiosks for sparrows, ships, emotes, shaders. 6. The raid specific rewards for armor, and guns. The graphics and story were great but there was a complete disservice to 2 epic characters. Osiris and Saint 14 deserve so much more. The Osiris DLC was a complete let down. I am a fair gamer but me and one member of my clan were able to 2 man the final boss. That would have never happened on the Destiny 1 game. Those bosses were BOSSES. That final boss felt like a regular strike. Please explain the creative process to ruin what was an amazing game. I want to love Destiny again, I want to be excited to play this game as I was before. I still play, if only to keep my family and friends company as they level up their characters.

  • 1. Not so much the "perfect" roll....but the grind for power-progression was a major part of Destiny 1s "legs". 2. Disagree. The drop rates for exotics in Y1 of Destiny were simply broken. 3. Which was the problem. People would hoard bounties and then use them to break the game's progression system when a new DLC would drop...then turn around and bash the game for allowing them to do it. So Bungie took the ability to STORE THEM UP, out of the game. 4. Level advantages were never a part of Regular Crucible play. Being high level only gave you an advantage Trials and Iron Banner. 5. Agreed. I can' t believe that storage is still the same problem its always been in this game. Especially since they want it to be a "collection game". 6. Agreed. Taking raid specific perks off of weapons and armor was a serious bone-head move. That only makes sense if Bungie was tyring to turn the Crucible into an e-sport. A. Much of Osiris' story was told through your interactions with other characters: Ikora, Sagira, and his "Reflections" in the Infinite Forest. Vex simulations are so accurate that they aren't aware that they are simulations. When you were interacting with Osiris' reflections...you were basically interacting WITH HIM. B. It was a campaign....not a raid. The story missions are designed for more casual gamers, and they are always "powered down" so that a casual player who stopped playing at the end of the previous campaign, can pick up right where he or she left off and keep playing. C. Bungie made its fair share of mistakes...which are well documented. But part of the problem is that some of us have unreasonable expectations. Gamers these days tend to feel like their $60 entitles them to a game that is custom-tailored to their personal gaming preferences. Not realizing that this game has a player base of 8.4 million people. All of whom like different things, and have different expectations of what the game should and shouldn't be. D. Love is sometimes the willingness to accept something for what it is.....rather than demanding that it be what you want.
