Holy Grail Quest Needed

We need something new that makes the grind worthwhile. In the the infinite garden simulation i thought that Bungie might have something up its sleeve. We did get PEs, lost sectors. How's this Week 1 - we all get a new map page or record book. Stage one, do something or find something this opens up the Grail Trail and we get the skeleton of a super weapon which has say eight or nine slots some of which are tuneable by the player. Each week we see the trail glistening and leading off to the horizon Week 2 - do some thing or find something which allows filling the first slot. Rinse and repeat each week varying what needs to be done. Also the new map page or record book is updated. Only can do one slot per week so cannot be rushed. Say after 16 weeks you have a super weapon that is a real killer. Twists and turns could be introduced ie dead end branches which have to be closed out to get back on the main pathway. At some intermediate point you get access to an existing exotic but it has the same eight or nine slot system the new super weapon has and you get something potent. You also get a choice to use the weeks perk in either the super weapon or the reworked Exotic but not both ie player gets enhanced control of where they are going. Working this way cuts down on the amount of new content which has to be created but perks the players interest each. Also at intermediate points you get bling which seems to be Bungies new mets.
