I think I speak for a big part of the community when I say 'I f**king love swords'. I love crushing groups of adds with the Titan Crown Splitter; I love devastating upper cuts with my Eternity's Edge; I love dancing round opponents with my Quick Fang in Crucible. Man, I even love just having a sword so I can see my Guardian in the 3rd person whilst looking fly as f**k. Swords, swords, swords, swords, swords!!!!! That's the good bit. The bad bit is 'Dude, where's my exotic swords?'. Give me back my Dark Drinker - like immediately. I don't care if you make me do an exotic quest for it again. In fact, I want you to make me do an exotic quest for it again. Make every damn exotic a quest line you crazy mofos. We love that shit. It's the enjoyable grind, not as enjoyable a grind as when I am doing my thing to some dancehall, but still an enjoyable grind! So... Step 1. Bring back exotic swords. Step 2 is bring in some new exotic melee weapons man. How is that not a thing already? Check it. Just imagine an exotic staff for the hunter class. You've got the animations already for something like it from the super. Make it an uber grind; add ornaments that can only be collected from killing x peeps in crucible or x adds in raid or x adds in pve and then make it super powerful when used in conjunction with the super. This will a) look bad ass b) fit in with the lore c) provide massive incentives to grind all content for different ornaments d) not be that difficult cos you can use existing animations and e) finally do what this damn game should have been doing all along and display your accomplishments clearly in the armour AND weapons you have. Not in emblems. Who honestly gives a shit about their emblem? Then, run with that idea man... Imagine right, imagine an exotic quest line for the actual Dawn Blade. Tough as hell. Add ornaments along the same lines as above. The r2 function could borrow animations from the super. Used in conjunction with the right super it gives a stat boost and does some crazy other shit. Used in conjunction with the Sentinel super it gives a stat boost. Start there and then just go crazy. Imagine a super cool heavy/ power weapon bow for the Hunters!! It could be an exotic that takes a long time to charge up that deals massive damage to bosses but draws energy from your super bar! When used in conjunction with the void super, it has additional perks. Imagine a exotic sword for the warlock that creates a fire barrier (a bit like a titan bubble) but you can move it around whilst the super lasts. Man, imagine an exotic piece of armour that you could use in conjunction with the titan shield that allows you to sprint whilst blocking enemy bullets? The more bullets you take the quicker your super charges. Just picture the scene: I'm raiding - my titan has full power ammo; I raise my shield; charge at the pesky evil alien scum trying to shoot up me and my fire team; as I rush head first with shield raised it depletes my power ammo but charges my Sentinel Super. Then, in a moment of sheer glory, I reach the adds, pop my super, and unleash the violet violence!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE Bungie, make this happen!!! Guys. I really hope you read this post. There is just so much you could do to make the universe so epic. Keep loving Destiny and so will we!!
