So this guy calls us passionate and Luke calls us jerks...

He said there's a group. Not ALL of us, clearly.. Luke also didn't call us jerks, he said "don't be jerks", which should go without saying, but some seem to take that as more of a challenge than common moral sense.

"Don't be jerks" implies that we are being jerks and that we should stop. That's the same as calling us jerks. Now don't get me wrong, I DO NOT condone the personal attacks against him but that's the type of shit you have to put up with dealing with the public. In any normal job he would have been reprimanded if not fired calling a customer a jerk. Let a lone doing it on social media towards the entire Destiny community. Could you imagine the Boss of Apple or Microsoft going on twitter and telling all their customers not to be jerks? It just would not happen. Why? Because they know they have to at least appear to respect their customers. Defend him and them all you want but the more you do the more they think they can get away with.

That's stretching. If your local pool puts up a sign saying "no diving", they're not calling everybody a diver, they're requesting people don't dive because they could get hurt. If someone says to the general public, "don't be jerks", and your immediate assumptions is he's calling EVERYONE a jerk, then you've inferred that he's calling everybody jerks.
In any normal job he would have been reprimanded if not fired calling a customer a jerk.
But again, he didn't call anybody a jerk. You're twisting his words. Yes there is some potential truth to it in that he might not say something like that unless people were being jerks, but 1) he didn't call anybody a jerk, 2) he didn't suggest everybody is being a jerk, and 3) you assume he wouldn't say it under any other circumstance than in reaction to us. The assumption that he's talking to us, calling us jerks, is one of guilt.

Bearbeitet von shwabbywabby: 2/12/2018 6:51:42 PMSeriously, your liking it to a "no diving" sign" and you say I'm stretching. The 2 are no where near the same. A "no diving" sign is a rule to be followed. A message on twitter is just that. A message from Luke to the community.
The assumption that he's talking to us, calling us jerks, is one of guilt.
Haha no. I've done nothing to feel guilty about. I would never stoop to name calling or whatever, neither do I condone it. The reason I'm pissed is I love Destiny and want it to thrive, but due to mismanagement is loosing players. This unprofessionalism towards the community is no way to get players back. I am genuinely worried that the people in charge of Bungie are that out of touch that they can't pull it back.

How is “don’t be jerks” not the same kind of rule to be followed as a no diving sign? Listen to yourself. You’re reading into things how you want to read into them, not by what is actually said.

I won't agree with you on this whole rule thing but to be honest it's irrelevant in any case. You do not use the term jerk when making public statements.

If Luke doesn't have the passion to push away a pizza or a cheeseburger how can he have passion to make a good game? Just sayin.

I think this is what Luke was talking about.
