Bearbeitet von a RAND0M M0DDER: 1/23/2018 11:19:34 PMThis is a common problem in many online games that trust the client over the server... Destiny being a weird p2p server mesh hybrid of a monster made by the mad scientists that they call network engineers working under their upper management office. It happens in Battlefield 3 a lot. The problem is, on their screen, they still see you. Your game position hasn't finished updating for them so they can still shoot you. They are sending your game info that they see you and are shooting you. The game updates on your screen the necessary damage. Then - DEAD - from your perspective. It's a game of he said she said. Online multiplayer is not perfect nor will it ever be. Certainly nowhere near close for the foreseeable future. It is something we must learn to live with. The fact is, digital communication is not light speed. It's not instantaneous. It can take hundreds of milliseconds for information to head to the game server, and then to them, and finally back to you. Solutions: Make sure you are on a wired connection wherever possible. Make sure other cables are kept at a distance from your ethernet cable, power cables especially. Twisted pair cables are good at resisting interference but EMI can still show up. Consider investing in a shielded cable if you are paranoid or have a lot of cables running from your rig and interesecting with your ethernet cable. Remember, Mbps is not the same as speed. It is bandwidth. More lanes on a highway. Games do not require much bandwidth. The ethernet cable will act like a toll road removing it from much of the traffic, collisions, potholes, lack of cell towers, and GPS intereference found on public WIFI roads.
Personal story: If you want to hear about real stories of shooting through walls... I used to shoot people through walls all the time in Destiny 1. Really shoot through them. When playing on WIFI on my PS4, as long as my crosshair was red, damage would be dealt. You could see the contrail effect path of the hitscan laser traveling through rocks/pillars/brush, you name it. I used to exploit this on the EDZ maps all the time. Without the red crosshair, no projectile would pass through said solid objects. With red, it was guaranteed to hit. This mostly happened on my really laggy connection. Halo 4 had the same problem. In SWAT, I would headshot players that jumped behind walls because my crosshair was red. I even shot an enemy that ran to the left of me, passing under my jump, with the railgun. I watched the contrail follow a 90° angle to my left to hit him instantly despite me aiming forward. _|
It's bullet magnetism. If a player projectile passes by a players frames, it hits anyway. Many shooters out there have a system like this, but the issue is that in Destiny 2, it seems too forgiving and "favors the shooter" too much.

I actually still shoot people who just went behind cover and still get kills through walls, even if I dont have line of sight. This game's netcode is horrible, and for PVP they need dedicated servers, no DMG referee, no 50/50 algo, and even skillbased matchmaking if they ever want it to be an "eSport" which...as we know was a complete joke on their part.
-
Happens to me all the time . Another thing is they need to fix the servers . No kidding sick of the glitches and lag , one moment you are shooting them for a good 5 seconds and then all a sudden they glitch next to you and you die from a melee.... or you shoot a void arrow right in their face and they just stand there shooting you and they still don’t get tethered .if I can get a 12.KD in one match and then all a sudden in the next match 0.9KD versing the same people. It just goes to show either they are laggy and glitchy as f*** or I am . It’s not fair for anyone , but then you get people who probably have better internet than most , NBN or whatever who will dominate everyone .

Start playing Overwatch, Blizzard has servers.

#removecrucible Problem solved

P2p for PvP. U new here? What seevers?
-
You sure it wasn't that grenade that's about 5 feet from your foot directly in front of you? I'm not saying it was, Mida would bend time and space and shoot you through walls in D1 so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Bearbeitet von SuperLegoShane: 1/24/2018 1:54:41 PMHow did you not see that pulse nade in front of you?
-
Don't cry because it doesn't help you. People are saying this for 3 years. Did it help!? Just go and play different games like 90% of the community, it will be better for you.

Game needs region lock, people in SA/BR need locked out of playing on US servers they plague shooters like a disease with horrendous lag giving them an advantage while they ruin the match for everyone else. I'm in East US I shouldn't be getting matched against damn players in Germany, or damn France, or Japan, and Brazil and SA. Not having dedicated servers was one huge mistake in and of itself.
-
Hey now bungie has hybrid servers..... this cant be bungies fault. bungie put 100$ into old tech so bungie is great.......
-
Agree 100% this happens almost all the time. I'm really getting sick of dying to people that don't earn that kill.
-
everytime this is happening to me it's so frustrating!
-
Its just a thing that happens at this point. I have started paying attention to when i kill some one and i kill them behind objects intentionally all the time. Fukin r3tarded.
-
its because bungie hit detection is not your guardian its actually your last two positions on the map lets say 0.5sec or 0.25sec previous location only way to counter is to not leave your cover and hug walls ! bullets wont hit you then !
-
It's connection issues. You did actually get killed n the open, but by the time the game catches up with loading, it looks like you where shot behind wall. Frustrating, but that's what happens.
-
Would dedicated servers help?
-
Ok so it's not just me

Bearbeitet von TheBigMarvinski: 1/23/2018 10:31:27 PMI can't see where the line of sight is that person has on you in those 2 frames

If they are not killing you through walls they are teleporting behind you.
-
Who needs dedicated servers lmao

Working as intended

Brakion was shooting me through the pillars last night. My barriers were solid, but the pillars that fade in and out were basically useless. Even if they just formed
