A house divided cannot stand. It's cliche, but it's true.
We are quickly reaching a point of no return. And I'm not talking about the politicians.
I'm talking about those of us yelling and screaming at each other over our different points of view.
Honestly, civil wars have started for less.

Politics aren't the problem. The problem is in the way we've become conditioned to fight with each other over them. Our founding fathers established this country by giving us the power over the government. It was to be a republic for the people, by the people. They went through a lot of effort to make sure that we always hold control over our government. We were supposed to maintain that control and view our politicians as expendable employees who would be replaced without remorse when someone better came along. Temporary voices of the people. Nothing more. But we allowed the country's elite to enter the political spectrum. Suddenly only multi-millionaires were able to run for office higher than a mayoral position because of the creation of super-pacs and enormous advertising campaigns. Then they convinced us to pick which "party" we support among these same elite so we never begin to question why the common American isn't represented anymore. They bicker with each other like mortal enemies on television about a few social issues and then share a table at their private golf resort the next week. And none of us say anything because we're too busy bitching at each other about kneeling football players. We were supposed to lead this nation. The people. But instead we now live in a country where we can't possibly admit when the people we voted for -blam!- up. We defend them instead of holding them accountable because admitting their mistakes.. and actually getting pissed off about them.. somehow means that the "other side" wins. We allow who we vote for to be decided for us based on the "R" or "D" next to their name. We let those same politicians tell us where to stand on our beliefs. And we immediately dismiss everything that comes out of the mouth of the big, bad "other party", while at the same time treating every word uttered by our side like it came strait from the almighty spaghetti monster himself. It's practically the definition of pack mentality. And we should be embarrassed. But instead people will keep trying to convince each other (and themselves) that their party is really all that different than the other until this country is irreparably divided. If we haven't already reached that point. What a time to be alive!

Someone has to get a anti party message out so people will start to be more informed, or else I don’t see us lasting for to much longer (100 years tops)

The house isn't divided. It's unified. Ordo ab Chao.

ITT: Perfect example of America right now: people on the right trying to minimize the whole situation and treating a divided America like a joke, people on the left calling people on the right piece of shit human beings, and people in the middle who are either fed up with both sides acting like 5 year old children on a playground, or are entertained by the clown show and watching from afar with popcorn in hand.

Honestly I want it to start already. The only good libtard is one dead/dieing!

So Tru. People can't look past the titles of democrat/Republican. It's so sad
-
And how are we suppose to fix this so-called problem?
-
My grandfather used to say he's glad he will be gone when this country falls. It's already happening. It's no longer a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Every great empire has fallen, and America is about to be on it's knees.
-
America is barely a -blam!-ing nation. From what I learn, we are barely tied together.

Bearbeitet von okonma5: 1/24/2018 8:44:19 PMThe end game are when we return to fact based reasoning and truly understanding the weight of some actions compared to others. On a side note though people are overblowing this division thing way more than it really is.

That's fascist talk.

I'm Russian to find a way to fix this country, but politics is Lenin me down.

I've seen more and more support for fascistic ideologies in recent years, if anything that'll be the death of freedom. Politics are important, it creates the possibility of change, of adaption. Removing that only results in fascism, we must be able to talk and present ideas for future. People are too stuck in the past, or in this forums case, their idea of what the past must've been like, it's never as rose tinted at the time, and progression is the only way forward; without it society will stagnate and die, or descend into a fascist nation.

Man, I can't wait for shit to hit the fan harder than it ever has before. We need some sort of disaster or drastic reform to re-unite the country again. The rest of the world seems to be moving on without the US, which honestly seems like the most intelligent thing to do, considering we have our heads so far up our ass at the moment to even consider anything rational. The populace has become so desensitized about, well, everything that we're just going through the motions as frameworks slowly collapse around us. It's funny in a morbid way. The Second Gilded Age of America has come, and it is hopefully on its way out. It's been a wild ride, friends.

It starts with the politicians. Most people follow a leader, weather it be their favorite senator or preacher or what have you. The real division is in change. Some want change, some don’t. Democraps want a lot of change, yesterday, and their list includes some things that are historically unacceptable. Like gay marriage, which I get is touchy (no pun intended) in a lot of places. Repugnat’s, on the other hand, want things to go back a hundred years and to the highest bidder. Or strongest corporate influence. Either way, if you’re listening to these assholes, you are part of the problem. We are all Americans. Love thy neighbor.

America died when it gave its soul to the federal reserve. So, in 1913.

It's because Senators aren't elected by State legislatures anymore imo And the Fed is a thing. Also people forgot that bigotry means hating people who believe differently than yourself. Oh yeah and everything is a protected class except political beliefs so when Google bans you from their services or some shrieking harpies call your job to tell them you're a bigot who hates trans people and you get fired..... Well Idk what to tell you. All the people shouting "if you voted for trump you're a racist" really aren't helping either

You cannot transcend politics and still have a perfectly functioning nation which is nice to live in. If you do transcend politics, you get one of two things: Fascism or just a plain dictatorship, neither of which are fun to be apart of for a longer amount of time. You see, politicians don't exist to annoy you, they need to be there to adapt to change. No politics results in a static government, which eventually turn out badly. This kind of Unionism has been experimented many times throughout history, but never worked.
-
They need to bring back "earmarks" so they have a reason to negotiate and everyone can get something they want out of any piece of legislation. Its give and take. As it is now, there is no good reason to vote outside of the party line.
-
Nah. You're -blam!-ed. You've had left wing people practicing dehumanization, and identity politics for so long they're ok with getting violent against those who disagree. Who get downright offended when you suggest they practice what they preach even when it comes to people they don't like. Then there's the current era of right wing people who probably would have grown up to be less radical, but they see nothing except "republican's are stupid" and "republican's are horrible people" etc. Which has only made them go backwards instead of forwards. Long story short: You're -blam!-ed.

Frankfurt school, critical theory, hatred for whites, hatred for Christianity, hatred for masculinity, (((subversion))), generations of promiscuity, rejection of traditionalism, etc. This is why there is a divide. More and more people are realizing what's really going on. The yelling is happening for a reason.
