Had many hours in D1, picked up Warframe half way along. Warframe became my go-to game when Destiny was boring, and now it's just my go-to game anyway. It is a game where you can't expect to have everything given to you. A bunch of people here will say it's grindy and they're not wrong, but personally (now at 800 hours in) there are only a few things I had to properly dedicate my playtime to to earn. Most I could just get as I played. It's not particularly story driven, there are quests and the story in them is actually quite involved imho, but mostly time is spent working through missions on the planets, to access the next. The movement mechanics in it are quite a bit more involved than most games, and speed of movement is a learned skill- if you group up with experienced players from the start, you may find yourself being left behind As some have said, there are microtransactions, ofc there would be in a f2p. Most things, bar a few properly endgame items, can be bought for the paid currency and most things can also be traded with players (for the paid currency). Although in my opinion this doesn't make it incredibly pay to win. I haven't felt pressured to buy anything in my playtime, and the core focus of modding in the game literally means that weapons are only as good as the mods you use on them. Going and buying a new frame and a bunch of weapons straight out of the door won't help you that much. However in contrast to that, almost everything (bar about 40% of cosmetics) can be earned without paying- the Market ingame can be deceiving, but it really offers the 'blueprint' for a weapon for normal credits/coins/glimmer whatever, and then you build it from resources- or you could pay platinum (the paid currency) and just get it straight up. The game does have quite a lot of attention to detail gone into it, and in the later elements of the main story, some pretty mind-blam!- stuff if you go in blind. If it isn't the game for you, which it may well be, you won't get on with it. But if it is the sort of game for you, you'll fall in love. And as many others have said, it's f2p so what really have you got to lose If you end up playing on PC, hmu and I'll answer any more stuff you got- IGN TotallyNotAnEmu

 • "Speed of movement is a learned skill." Bullet jump: Run -> Slide -> Jump -> Slide Run -> Slide -> Jump -> Jump -> Slide Glide: Jump -> ADS with gun/Block with melee Then add wall running and climbing. It's not complicated

 • Oh I know it isn't. But when you're starting, and bullet jump, aim glide and generally conserving momentum isn't explained to you, it is a learned experience to put that together as experienced players do.
New players are always slow... that's very nearly a gospel truth in my experience
• On the subject of story content, I think we're going to see "The Man in the Wall" come to the fore in a big way. Hey kiddo...

 • A decent video to watch if you want, might be Skill Up's 2017 review of Warframe. Say what you like about Youtubers, but it's probably the best communicated review I've seen
