Question:
Have we ever figured out entirely what the Heart of the Black Garden was? I’ve heard theories a while ago, like it’s a shard of The Darkness, kinda like there’s a shard of the Traveler.
Also, why did the Vex even care about it? What was it supplying to them that they decided to keep it around?
Perhaps it was just an idol for them. Like they had to obey it.

This is backed up by something in Ikora's Journal where she talks about the Taken. [quote]Oryx wields this power. But Oryx did not make it. We face the same flower we met in the Black Garden.[/quote] Oryx gained the power to Take directly from the Deep/Darkness not the worms.

3 AntwortenIt’s probably a Hive Worm/Worm God. In the books of Sorrows it says that the Vex got into the Oryx’s throne world through a portal Croat was tricked into opening. The Vex made a Mind called Quria, Blade Transform. Quria deduced the sword logic but also captured some Worm larvae. It tried ‘religious tactics’ towards the Worm and learned that by worshipping the worms they could alter reality. So that’s probably why when you get to the heart of the black garden, all the goblins that are there seem to be praying. Myelin Games did a video about this a while back, it should explain things more clearly than I do.

It’s not confirmed but the popular theory is that it’s a hive worm they’ve had for a few million years.

2 AntwortenWe're not entirely sure what it is, but the vex recognized it as such a powerful entity that they decided to worship it. I believe the exo stranger referred to it as the birthplace of the vex, but I'm not sure if that's true or even still canon
