IMO only logical option is, re-work Destiny 1, add D2 content to it and release it without asking for money. Return back to original 10 year plan and add content to one Main Game.

This would be a dream come true....

Guaranteed success

People keep saying that Bungie should do a bunch of work and then just give it away. It would suck for those people to go to work one day and have their boss tell them because they made customers unhappy, the whole company was going to have to work for free the entire next month....

Bearbeitet von ReaperBlack_201: 12/20/2017 9:15:27 AMYou are probably a student and don't know how business is working. If i am wrong sorry but your statement is just stupid. Not a single employee will suffer from this. Maybe, the person who is at leader position will get fired. Nothing more. Company will suffer from it's profits but they did a lot of money last 4 years.

Haha! Have fun with your free Bungie game. Be sure to frame that personal apology letter they're going to send you, begging you to love their game again.
-
you showed your true color. grow up a little.

Bearbeitet von CookieNiki: 12/19/2017 8:01:32 PMIt would be a one time, temporary situation. It's either that or lose the majority of the costumers and close the doors for good. What do you think is better, keep the jobs or lose them?

Fixing a broken 3 of Coins or balancing a weapon in a free update is one thing. Adding The Dawning event for free is another. Frankenstein-ing 2 games together and giving it away is something completely different.

Bearbeitet von CookieNiki: 12/20/2017 8:04:07 PMIt may be, but when the survival of a developer may be at stake maybe, just maybe, some radical approach must be made. Keeping the same philosophy that isn't working isn't one, that's for sure. Just saying, of course there's many ways to look at that picture.

If this were a No Mans Sky forum, I'd completely agree but, despite players (including me ) having some of the issues that we do with the game, none of them were bad enough to stop playing for a lot of us. Destimy 2 is still on every platform it's released for top 10 selling games and it's the number 2 selling game of 2017. The franchise and studio are not in jeopardy. It's longevity may be in question but I've no doubt it's development costs have been covered and the game is profit for Bungie and Activision now.

There would still be whining, bitching, problems with the game, and people leaving how they were before d2 was even thought up. Not to mention that the community would still be toxic as all hell both pve and pvp🤣

I said re-work Destiny 1 not re-render.

Bearbeitet von fuhd79: 12/20/2017 3:54:48 PMThank you!! This is what I've been saying. There should not be a D2. They should have continued to release updates into D1. Destiny2 should have come out 10 years after D1
-
best idea ive seen so far
-
Yeah because that's totally a logical option
-
Yeah because that's totally a logical option
It actually is, Destiny was supposed to be a ten year plan game type hybrid. If they were to do it like world of warcraft with having big expansions the size of games, most likely Destiny 1 to 2 it would've been great, with smaller in between. People would get access to the base game they purchased and some things maybe couldn't be usable in some parts of the other major expansion to keep it civil. It also wouldn't hurt to have a PTR where they would receive feedback on updates they would officially release so they could tweak or change it all together. It is still possible for them to do this. If only they did tho.

Desti y was never billed as a 10 year game. Ive been following destiny since halo odst. It was supposed to be a 10 year franchise. Spanning multiple destiny titles over a 10 year period. Our guardians were supposed to grow from day 1 til year 10 and carry over to each new installment.

which didn't happened.

First of all, i am a software developer and i know how much time and work it needed to do this change. But, Bungie and Destiny franchise will not last long if they win back their fan base. With D2 core, and all the PvP oriented implementations didn't welcomed by majority and they are the reason for this boring and stale game. How they will make this game fun again with two-primaries, low cooldowns and stupid AI? They cant. How can they bring back 3v3 or 6v6 without changing meta? They can't. How can they bring back weapon perks without breaking this game? They can't. This game's enemies, bosses, raids, pvp games are all designed to support two-primary weapon layout with categorized skills and low cooldowns. They can't change them without breaking it. And also they can't asked for more money, this time players will riot really. They milked so much money from their fan base without giving anything and nowadays it started to backfire. If Bungie wants to be back into their glorious days they should rework Destiny 1 not this crap. But if Bungie only want to milk stupid kids, they should continue to this nonsense where everything is just cosmetic item.
-
Milking the players is right! I mean, all that stuff players from D1 bought and NONE of it carried over to D2! What's it going to be like in D3? The same exact thing! Bungie should've allowed the players from D1 to carry over their stuff to D2! All weapons, armor, shaders, emblems, emotes, sparrows and ghosts! Sure, things might have been stale anyway, but at least you had what you paid for in D2! Doing what they did was a slap in every Destiny gamers face!
-
This right here..... Some many awesome armors, better shaders, ships, and sparrow designs than we have now.... This game should have built on the armory and loot if that's last game.... Cheap BS story reason for losing everything we grinded endless hours for in D1.
-
Lol if you carried all your stuff over from D1 there really would be no content as most of th exotics in D2 are from D1 Lazy ass Bungie
-
So you are saying that it is a logical option for Bungie to abandon D2 and focus on D1 despite obvious contractual obligations with activision. Your deluded
-
"You're" deluded, Not "your" ;)
-
"not" not "Not" ;)
