Sadly no. I posted a topic (mysteriously seems to have vanished) which went along the lines of "I wonder if Bungie realise that once the trust is gone it's gone!". I basically just said that they don't seem to understand that they have lost the trust of their players yet continue to do the same crap again and again. The numbers speak for themselves. People are no longer coming back for DLC and updates. Even masterworks hasn't brought anyone back. Those playing doggedly still are. Clinging to the hope that Bungie will change. At this stage I think even Activision will be wondering if they are fighting a lost cause. Like EA they are not above simply cutting their losses out of the blue and walking away.

Just so everyone knows, they're blowing smoke up everyone's asses. Let's go back to D2 pre-launch, where they told us that they were already anticipating issues with the game and were creating fixes for them ahead of time. Now let's skip to the last couple months where everyone is not happy with all the things they removed that were apart of D1. Now fast forward to now, where they're adding some of those things back and giving us "new ways to acquire gear." Don't, for one second, think they are giving us this stuff because they feel bad or realize they been making mistakes. They had this content already planned for months, they're just telling us they're listening in hopes that we buy more of their crap. And all the lower IQ individuals will buy into the lies and keep supporting this crap developer.

Some mistakes is an understatement, Destiny 1 had issues dont get me wrong, but it genuinely feels like this is a continuous cycle of false promises. I was dumb for preordering the game and its expansion pass, have played 2-3 hours over the last month (for osiris and now im not going back until the next xpac (for 2-3 hours of content im sure) But frankly Im done with this developer and game. I bought into the hype, i bought into the game worth playing. Never again, not trusting reviews on Destiny 3 either. Ill wait a few months if I feel like coming back based on what the community says. Im not buying half made copy and paste games anymore. Theirs 0 humility with people who buy into their own hype and this is what feels like is going on. Nope, you are not way off. This company will continue to look for ways around things and pretend they care about their player base. The only reason they reverted the paywall was because the gamers they are losing and the refunds they were getting that BungieVi$ion blocked. This company hit a new low this time around. They pushed the line of acceptance too far with the community and the gaming world it seems and now they are trying to backtrack just until it’s enough to quell the frustration. Unfortunately I think they have done serious damage that only drastic changes will fix. They lost credibility with there fans. They lost support from typically supportive gaming media, and the have lost many of the YouTube crowd as well(I don’t care about YouTube myself but some do). All of this negativity in past seemed to stay for the most part on forums and reddit. Now it’s coming from all avenues bashing the game. That’s a lot of negative press to come back from and I don’t think what they have planned now will fix that. They overstepped with the business strategies to generate more revenue and now this is where we are. Can they fix it and get this game back on track remains to be seen.

Here's the thing - I don't really care about cosmetic items. I think most players wouldn't normally put much stock in cosmetic items. They are a nice thing to have, but it doesn't ultimately make my experience playing the game better or worse on a purely intrinsic level. Cosmetics are usually an inconsequential feature in a game - something you get because you want to customize the way your avatar looks, or switch it up now and then. Something that is [b]purely[/b] cosmetic, shouldn't hold so much weight in a game like this, and yet, Bungie has engineered it to hold such weight by making it a core incentive for playing the game itself past lvl 20. Have you realized that the indicator that flashes biggest and brightest on your screen, giving you the visual impression that you've done the greatest thing that can be done in this game, is unlocking an Eververse reward? This is calculated and by design. In D2, normally obtainable exotics and legendary items have become relatively easy to collect, in comparison to D1. In these recent updates, Bungie has made it even [i]easier[/i] to obtain a full collection of exotics and legendary items. Why in god's name would they do such a thing? The answer - because the ease and pace in which players obtain those items are [b]inconsequential to Bungie[/b]. They are not what they want players to view as the real prizes in their game. In contrast, notice how they continually take active measures to hinder players from obtaining the full catalog of Eververse items. Long after you've collected every exotic item out in the world, and every legendary item out in the world, the only thing you still won't own but a fraction of is the Eververse collection. This is calculated and by design. "So what," you ask. "It doesn't really do anything but make you look better." Yeah, but the same can be said about gold and diamonds in the real world. The societal value of a reward isn't necessarily based on its effectiveness or practicality - it's the rarity of the reward that makes it so appealing, and as it stands, what's contained in the Eververse catalog are the rarest items in the game. That means the ultimate indicator of prestige in D2 is how big a collection of animations, cool vehicles, or dance moves your avatar has. Bungie understands this and is shrewdly exploiting their players with principals of psychology. It's ingenious. However, it's also underhanded, degrading, and greedy. This is why they deserve every bit of the backlash they're getting and will continue to get, as long as Eververse is a thing.

At this stage I have no faith in Bungie at all. It is bizarre that they can talk about working on ways to make your 10th drop of a weapon more interesting when they already had a perfectly good system in place in D1. Everything about D2 is just a clusterf*** and I am probably at a point where even if they dropped the greatest expansion of all time at the start of Y2 I would begrudge paying for anything further now. They aren't the only game in town any more.

They didn’t make, “some mistakes”. A mistake is not something that was done on purpose. The lock-out for non-DLC players was a calculated and purposeful business decision meant to cause those who did not purchased the DLC to go out and purchased the content. Mistakes my ass.
