I am not even upset anymore lol. It's actually just sad to watch this game double down on its decision to remain lifeless and boring. The boss fight could have been completed by a brain damaged person. If you can walk in a straight line and shoot the big robot when it prompts you, you will complete it. The infinite inconvenience is the prettiest/ best sounding waste of time I have ever seen. There is no replay value in walking to my objective and having it turn left and give me fallen to then see it turn right and give me hive in the next sequence.
The loot pool remains lifeless and devoid of any substance, (apart from the Prom. Lance, which is a mistake ironically). The ornaments are plain and uninteresting. Mercury is small and forgetful. You could toss me in a heroic strike and not even tell me and I wouldn't even realize I am playing a heroic strike- not to mention one of the 'new' strikes is one the story missions reskined as a strike. (u can't make this shit up)
I hate to see someone at Bungie reading this who actually cares about the game they're working on, but I can't sit here and accept mediocrity. You have decided to go in a direction which I find tragic given your infinite resources and ability to create beautiful, immersive worlds where people actually want to get lost in. Instead, you would rather do the minimum, charge the maximum, sell the game back to me in pieces and then slap microtransactions on it as a bow (again). The worst part is that I am sure good ideas get brought up at meetings, but they're dismissed because although they would be cool, they won't generate the most income.
Your demographic is now the ultra-casual gamer who appreciates the free exotics and legendaries, powering up to max without the raid or trials, free loot from those activities just because they're in a clan, no difficulty settings, static rolls because they don't know how to read perks, smaller skill trees because D1 skill tree was apparently too difficult to understand, and shit load of other changes that boggle my mind. There are ways to retain your veterans instead of shitting on them because they don't bring in the most money. COD does it by having barebones playlists, hardcore playlists, Runescape did it, Halo did it.
Since you're willfully going to continue heading in this direction without actual user input and only going to communicate at your convenience, there is no use in constructive posts, or idea threads to make your game better. Why do you even give a shit about them if you're just going to do what you want anyway? You can make this game better tomorrow if you want, but you won't because doing it this way suits you better. Instead, I just gave you my review on COO, the game's general direction and how I feel about it. If any of you actually care about your game this should mean something to you, but if this is just a 10 year cash grab, feel free to skip past it and pretend it doesn't exist.
Cheers.

Destiny2 is the pinnacle of mediocrity.

i was never mad i just wanted a more replayable game, i enjoyed running content a few times but i went back to other games

Y'know. When I first came to past Mercury, it was stunning. I looked around that beautiful place. I wanted to look around.
Blue Wall.
Finally someone that is not salty and hating just for the fun of it, but instead posts his worries and thoughts in a polite way. I love this game but I agree with everything you said

Mhm. Also remember to visit Eververse. Treat yourself to some c*m.

CoD, Warframe, the Division, PUBG, Cuphat, Fortnite... The world's okayest games. Witcher 3, Until Dawn, Super Mario Bros (NES), Mega Man (NES), Chrono Trigger, Diablo 1 and 2, FF7, Punch Out, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Mario 64, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Pong, Street Fighter, Kirby, Baldur's Gate, the list goes on and on. 3/4 of you wouldn't know a good game, even if it popped out of your mom's ass, fell through the floor, and landed in your lap in that basement.

Whenever someone calls the game "trash", I normally end up arguing with them because they're massively overreacting. But if you use terms like "okay" and "mediocre", I can't really disagree. There are some things that Bungie do well, particularly the graphics and the gun play. Exceptionally well. However, they seem to be in general quite bad at giving players a reason to get emotionally invested, to care about what they're doing. It's quite frustrating because sometimes they show moments of genius, which makes you hopeful that something great is coming, but then it finally arrives and... meh... I mean, I'll still play a bit as it's still good fun. I've just learned to keep my expectations measured - don't expect excitement.

They Activisionated the game. Remember when WoW had a kick ass skill tree? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

didn't read. Just came in to say I agree with the title. Destiny as a franchise has never wowed me. Like there are some really breath taking areas. some things that made me laugh or chuckle. and some moments where I was like "that was pretty -blam!-ing amazing." But i've never been like "this game is all I need." Since D1 beta i've wanted the series to be heavily RPG focused even at the cost of some of the buttery smooth gunplay. You'd think that would be blasphemy since it's the one thing that Bungie has nailed in any game they've ever made. But honestly i've had solid gunplay since halo 1. Back when I was just a kid. I really think Bungie needs to take the restraints off with their next title and REALLY attempt something out there. Destiny 1 was full of "what story" memes and identity issues. Now that Bungie is finally (all though very slowly) writing a good story it makes me question the game itself and what we actually play. And honestly it's just mediocrity at the highest level of fun that it can muster. In the end though I think Bungie hit the line they were aiming for. They wanted a kick arse fps where you shoots teh aliens and chill out with some friends for a few hours a week. But instead of it being FPS it has a universe with rpg sprinkled in. And that's fine with me. Maybe some other company will create a destiny like game that focuses more on RPG. It's a successful enough game. If it can happen to the souls series it's only a matter of time before someone tries to make "destiny like" as a genre. at least in my opinion. For now i'll just enjoy the ride.

I kind of feel like hardcore players could make up more of the sales than people realize. I can only speak to my own experience and say I considered myself a veteran and hardcore player and also was more willing to fork over money to microtransactions because I had more dedication to Destiny’s world. I felt I was giving to a game I loved and believed in and in turn those purchases would go to make the game better, but it turned out not to be the case. Well now they lost my sale of D2 completely (I didn’t buy it because I wanted to wait and see what the end game looked like) and I am no longer contributing to Eververse. If there are more people out there like me with similar stories I believe they will be missing a lot more sales than people think because they turned off too much of their dedicated player base. Anytime someone is dedicated to something they will be more willing to support it financially.

I like it. Its a fun expansion!
-
Lol no it wasn't casuals it was the hardcore player base that made it like this, constantly whining and treating less experienced players like trash

Make Destiny a rated M or higher franchise! This T for Teen crap is why this game is shit

Man, the gospel was been spoken. Thanks for that brother. I would have cussed my way right through that and sounded like an idiot by the end. 🙌🏼 Personally I figured we were screwed when they announced we were all starting over in D2. RIP the ten year dream.
-
It's spectacularly boring, magnificently mundane, terrifically ordinary and amazingly generic.
-
I disagree. To me it's the worlds most beautifully hollow game.
-
Okay would be fine if no lootgramboxbrights were present, with them the game is the world's most really!?!?!? game.

This post is perfect.

The pvp is garbage in d2. I just played d1 pvp and was having a blast.

I don't even Know what too do. I pre ordered under the idea we are going on an adventure to find our light and reclaim it. A deep and in depth endgame and progression. But that adventure to get our light was public events and the endgame was just sad. At least I got a cool bag to hide my pain in. I don't even Know if I should play CoO. Ever way I lose. I'll be the idiot who plays it and complain. Or the autist who fell for bungie tricks for the fourth time

Destiny is for casuals now. If you like grinding for great loot like in d1, this ain’t your game anymore. Personally, I have the game and dlc, but there’s not much future here. There’s no books of Sorrow, no show down at Dwindlers ridge. No god rolled weapons to grind for, no tier 12 armor to suit your favorite builds. Play CoO for a couple weeks and put the game away until the next one.

Bungie sucks. Worse game company ever.
